So it’s not exclusive?

By Joseph Pawlikowski

Dave Pinto at Baseball Musings has the scoop on the MLB/DirecTV deal.

I’d try to sum it up for you, but I’m confused as all holy hell.

I think it’s exclusive if your cable provider (Time Warner, Cablevision, whatever) doesn’t agree to something with DirecTV, which I’m sure will involve an exchange of oddles a money. I bet most providers balk.

I’ve got DirecTV, so I don’t care either way.

That should be “oodles”

I loved MLB.tv last season, though the blackout rules are ridiculous. I paid $100 for the service, so there’s no reason to black me out of Yankees games while I’m at work.

I’m having my uncle in Arizona put it on his card this year so I can actually watch the bombers if I have my laptop and not a TV (which comes in handy when you have two roommates and a girlfriend who just don’t like baseball — why I’m with any of them I have no idea). Who wants to watch Diamondbacks games anyway?
