Mike A. says:

And to throw salt in the wound, it was against the Royals.

Joseph P. says:

And he was outpitched by Gil Meche.

AND — top of the 8th, two men on, two out, Sox down 5-1 and Papi at the plate. And what does he do? Steeeeerike three.

Mike A. says:

But Papi’s clutch! The umpire must have been calling a wide zone, much like Ortiz’s torso.

I’m sure everyone already forgot how A-Rod’s bomb pretty much sealed the win today.

Joseph P. says:

Funny you mention people forgetting A-Rod’s bomb. I was watching the M’s/A’s game earlier, and the Seattle guys made sure to mention how Alex had an error and a strikeout with men on in the first inning. They shared a chuckle at his expense, but never went on to mention that he wound up saying, “forget this ’save situation’ crap. I’m winning the game right now.”

If Jeter had hit the homer, it would have been sealing the win. But since it was A-Rod, he is obviously just padding his stats by hitting a meaningless bomb. How selfish of him.

He was quite simply…ineffective.

Hop on over to his blog and check out his post-game comments. Priceless.
