Mike,

RE: new top 10

Are you considering Joba "seriously injured" or did you just forget him? You wouldn't leave him off your top 10 would you?

Round 2...

RE: DeSalvo over Clippard
Prospect lists mean little in the real world. DeSalvo's pitching better right now, and he's more experienced. Basically he's better equipped to deal with the ensuing chaos.

RE: IPK's velocity
I heard it was up to 91-92. I'm sure Nardi helping him with his curve, but Kennedy already had a good curve when he was drafted. Go to MLB.com's Draft Tracker page and watch his scouting video. Tell me doesn't look like a young Moose.

RE: Top 10
Not counting Hughes and the seriosuly injured guys, I'd go:

1. Tabata (easily, and I'm assuming the injury is minor)
2. Betances (easily)
3. Kennedy
4. Clippard
5. Ohlendorf
6. Whelan
7. Frankie Cervelli
8. Alan Horne
9. JEff Marquez
10. David Robertson

Question about Ian Kennedy?

I heard He lost some miles in his fastball. Before Yankees drafted him He throws 88-90 rather than 92. Did He regain his fastball velocity back? What plan does Yankees and Nardi for Him? Is he working on a new pitch. Thanks

RE: Clippard
If he was a lefty, certainly his stock would be higher. That's just the nature of the game, quality lefthanded pitching is a scarce commodity, and anytime a lefty flashes some potential, he gets hyped. But Tom Glavine? No.

RE: Tabata
Nothing yet. Once I have something, I'll be sure to pass it along.

RE: Joba
He'll be on the mound for Tampa next week. At least that's what Fabian tells us via Pinstripes Plus.

RE: Betances
He's down in Extended Spring Training. As far as I know he's not injured, and I think they'll send him to Short Season Staten Island in late June instead of Charleston. The competition is a little better in SI, so I'm all for it. If he does well there, he could skip Low-A all together.

RE: Whelan
He's been pitching well, but he came over with some seriously crazy numbers (72 IP, 39 H, 104 K, or around there I believe) and he hasn't sustained it. For some reason he's on a funky schedule, not the typical 2 IP every 3 days routine the Yanks use for top relief prospects. Maybe some structure will help, but not knmowing when you're going to pitch is what being a reliever is all about.

RE: IPK
He should be in Trenton by the end of the month. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they promoted him next week to make room for Joba. Right now, Kennedy is the Yanks best pitching prospect in the minors that's actually pitching. Go take a look at Dan Bard's numbers, I can't tell you how much email I got after the 06 draft saying that the Yanks should have taken him instead of Kennedy.

Desalvo over Clippard?...

That only defies every single top 10 yankee prospect list in the entire world. not to mention every top 100 prospect list.
