High-A Tampa‘s game with St. Lucie was suspended after the third inning due to heavy smoke from nearby wildfires, and will be resumed tomorrow afternoon. Tampa was leading 2-0 at the time; here’s what the boys did before the game was called:

Tim Battle: 2 for 2, 2 B – dammit, I’m finally having a good game and it gets suspended, what the hell man…
Jose Tabata: 1 for 2, 1 R – he hasn’t been hitting for much power, but a) Legend’s Field is pitcher friendly, b) the FSL is pitcher friendly, and c) he’s eight-frickin’-teen…don’t sweat the power outage

Low-A Charleston (4-2 loss to Savannah) there must have been some fireworks, because SP Garrett Patterson, C Kyle Anson, and Savannah’s leadoff hitter (Danny Stegall) were all ejected right at the outset of the game…

    I realize Shelley Duncan isnt a prospect but I’d sure like to see what he could do with the bat in the majors. Plus I think it’s time we had a guy named Shelley on the Yankees.
