this is nitpicking, but you have joba going one inning too many in the joba watch.

Thanks, Nathan. I've corrected the Joba Watch.

Pinstriped Bible posted an interview with Kevin Goldstein from Baseball Prospectus. An official from another team told Goldstein that he had Chamberlain as one of the top 5 pitching prospects in the game. And that was before Chamberlain getting promoted to Trenton and yesterday’s performance:

(questions asked by Steve Goldman - I assume that the interview is a bit old as he still has Chamberlain in A ball):

Joba Chamberlain has dominated at Tampa. Why is he still there?

I think they're taking it easy with Joba because of last year with injury problems. I think it's clear Joba doesn't belong in Tampa anymore. He belongs at Trenton at least. I talked to one official, who had Joba in the top five pitching prospects in the game right now, with Lincecum, Bailey, and Hughes all in the big leagues and out of the discussion. That's some high praise. He changes speed well, locating the ball really well this year, even better than he did in college. He could be a workhorse and win 15-18 games a year. I'm a huge Joba fan.

How fast will Ian Kennedy come?

He's now at Trenton and pitching well there.

When will we wake up and find out that he's not that good?

Define not that good.

I could find scouts last year when Kennedy was finishing up at Southern Cal who would say that this guy could be a fourth starter in the big leagues right now.

But you ask, what's his ceiling? Fourth starter. That's his ceiling, too. He was maybe the safest pick in the draft, because it was impossible to see him anything as other than a fourth or fifth starter. He'll never be exposed as being bad, he'll be exposed as being not that good, as an average pitcher. Last time I checked that pays $9 or $10 million a year.

Chamberlain a top 5 pitching prospect? Chamberlain only a #4? Mike, what do you think?

Hey Mike,
Don't knwo about you, but if I hafta watch kyle farnsworth come in a fucking suck up the joint one mroe time, while britton and ramirez play catch in triple A i may just call it a season. Last time i checked, the yankees were about winning and cashman is about saving some cash and building value.. This team is in no position to build value and it has two (at least) relief pitchers wasting space and costing the big league team wins because someone (Joe and Cash) have no faith in young arms. Listen if they hafta throw kyle otu there why not in the 6th. They just won their seventh straight and all i can think about is how !@#$% frustrating kyle and Lviz are too watch ruin games for this team. I swear i am one Kyle farnsworth eighth inning away from not watching the big league squad.

I want to take this by steps...

1- Joba is the F'n man!!! Enough said.
2- Does anyone think that Josh Phelps is really a better option at first than Shelley could be or Andy Phillips for that matter?
and finally...
3- I get that the Yankees don't want to give up on Cody Ehlers, but they really have to get Miranda up north. The guy has proved that he is overmatching FSL pitchers.

Thank you for the prompt Down on the Farm Mike. Something tells me you were as anxious to write it as I was to read it.
