Mike, I gotta think that if Igawa gets lit up again this weekend, they'd have to seriously consider Horne.

Why isn't Shelley Duncan with the Yanks? Sure, he's a little old for a prospect, but he at least deserves a bench spot.

There was but one real line about Betances in the <a href="http://www.silive.com/sports/advance/index.ssf?/base/Sports/1182426320138310.xml&coll=1" rel="nofollow">Staten Island Advance</a>:

"He allowed three second-inning runs, but was betrayed by shaky defense."

The whole game article was a story about Damon Sublett. While he's a good guy to watch, one would think more people are interested in Betances. This is why newspaper coverage sucks, and why the SI Yanks should grant us media passes (I'd actually go to some games and cover them if that was the case).

According to Mike, the Post says he topped out at 93.

I think Damon Sublett has a chance to zip through the system. Looking at numbers from college, I like him better than the Russo/Raley group they drafted last year. Above them, there's even less.

Does anyone have more details on Betances' start? Such as how fast he threw or how his control was

Bryan Smith at BP wrote about Alan Horne in his latest piece about impact mid-season call ups.

http://tinyurl.com/ynmd5a

He said:

"Horne isn't well known, but he should be. His selection from Florida in the 11th round of the 2005 draft was a hidden gem delivered by the Yankees' scouting department. Horne is over the injury problems that plagued his college career, and he is suddenly somewhere in the mix for the organization's best pitching prospect behind Phil Hughes and Joba Chamberlain. While Hughes rehabs and Joba prepares further for The Show, I believe it's Horne rather than Tyler Clippard who would be better suited to pitch every fifth day for the Yanks."

Today made Smith look good by posting this a couple of days ago. What are the chances that the organization will make this move though? Slim to none?

Why is Horne still in Trenton? Need him at AAA so if Igawa pitches like Igawa or anyone else goes down he can get the call--- he's 24 and pitching great
