Miguel Cairo for Gold Glove
By Benjamin KabakTeams that make five errors don’t deserve to be playing in the 13th inning.
Also, why would Joe Torre call for a suicide squeeze when up by three runs on Friday night but not in the most obvious of obvious spots when down by a run in the 13th inning on Saturday? Anyone?

I couldn’t believe a bunt wasn’t called for in this situation. You’ve got to play to tie before you can play to win. Atrocious.
Plus, Melky had struck out four times to that point. It made perfect sense.
Joe Girardi was in the both calling for it- Not only would a bunt tie the game, then you would have Damon on second for Jeter with two outs in a tie— TORRE HAS TO GO
Then I endorse Joe Girardi for manager. Right there. Hands down. No question.
Cashman has been saving Torre’s job. He needs to be held accountable for that.
Of course, Girardi also praised Homer Bush, saying he had a great career with the Yankees and a few good years in Toronto.
A great career with the Yankees? Did he even play a full season combined in his years in New York?
Huh?
I think that the bunt on friday was uncalled for. After the game Joe said the bunt should have been a hit into the gap, but he would have to talk to Cairo about that. I think Cairo did that on his own and Joe was upset about it because the runner on third didn’t know because it wasn’t called for!
The runner on third was breaking for home when Cairo squared around to bunt. If he didn’t know it was called for, then how did he know to break with the pitch?
