Low-A Charleston‘s game was suspended due to rain in the top of the first. None of the River Dogs got to the plate, and Gaby Medina allowed a run in 0.1 IP in his return from Staten Island. Dunno when they’ll continue this one.

Colter Bean: 2.1 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, 1 WP
Ben Kozlowski: 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 1 K – I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again: if they don’t give him a Sept. call-up, they really should be ashamed…he’s been a rock all year for this team, especially when 3/4 of the Scranton pitching staff was either injured or in the bigs because of injuries…

Do you think that Whelan could jump to AAA next year if he finishes cleaning up his mechanics in Tampa? He should be in Trenton now, he’s only in Tampa to get more innings.

  • Zack

Do you know what the reason for moving Whelan and Claggett to starting roles was?

So much for Steven White’s good run…And it sure looks like Henn is a far better option than Villone…

  • Leigh

The Villone that has allowed one hit, one walk, and no runs in his last 8.1 innings?

  • Zack

The Villone who has pitched exclusively in blow outs, who has and will continue to suck as a pitcher (don’t give me such a small sample size. Just b/c he hasn’t given up a run in 8.1 innings of garbage time doesn’t make him less likely to give up 5 today) Those 8/1 innings which were spread out over 16 days…

they should trade steve white while he still has whatever value. they might find some team that thinks hes a real prospect. try for a decent hitting prospect from a bad pitching team for white
