Rivera looked kinda tired Sunday and Monday, I was hoping to see Joba here to give him an extra day of rest. Oh well. Hopefully we can hold them to 1 here and tie it up in the bottom frame.

Shelly Duncan is going to break someone’s wrist with those high fives one day!

Would have been great to have used Joba there. Oh, well.

It would have been nice to carry that momentum Shelley gave us into tomorrow…

Can’t bring in Rivera there, i don’t even care if Joba wasn’t there. He’s obviously been a little overworked and tired lately. It didn’t help that Torre used him Monday when is should’ve been a no doubter day off for Mo after Sundays tough work. It’s just double frustrating knowing we had a fresh Joba in the pen, you just know we get to the bottom half of the 10th, they find a way to win. That game almost counts as 2 with the Sox losing!

Luddy Bazcej says:

We have to get Shelley some more AB’s. Worth it to start him over Phillips at this point no?

Adam says:

Well, possibly. Duncan has a better bat, but he’s not going to OPS over 900 at the big league level, and me thinks he’s in for a huge nasty slump pretty soon.

If he overcomes the pitchers getting used to him, then maybe he can stick as a good bench bat.

RollingWave says:

I think he’s no match against truely good pitching, but should crush inferior once quiet well if you don’t show him too often.

at this point, a Betemit /Duncan 1B platoon make too much sense for Joe Torre, awsome power from both side of the plate
