Rookie GCL Yanks had their final game of the season cancelled due to rain. The Yanks won their division by 7 games, and will take on the GCL Twins in a one game playoff. The winner of that game takes on the GCL Dodgers, who had the circuit’s best record, in the best-of-three finals. It’s a rather unique playoff system; you can find a preview here

I think Pope STILL deserves the title. He’s been $. And he went to SCAD. Is he really a legit prospect? The only thing I have read with any real info is the bit about how awesome his mechanics are and some pre-drat blurbs…And seeing as I live in San Diego, it’s a bit hard for me to actually go to SI. I guess I could get milb.tv…

simply the fact that he was drafted in the third round would mean that he’s looked at as a legit prospect. the stats at his level are essentially meaningless, but they sure arent hurting his stock.

      • zack

I wouldn’t call the stats at SI meaningless. SI is the middle of the as, and hes going against mostly post-college guys. I’d say they are quite meaningFULL.

But simply b/c a guy was drafted in the 3rd round doesn’t make him a legit prospect. He was a sleeper, and legit prospect in baseball is a tricky term, obviously

        • dan

what i meant by legit prospect is that the yankees see him as a legit prospect. obviously every team’s first several rounds are filled with guys that they think are legit prospects, but the yankees draft team has been very smart about their decisions the last few years.

          • zack

Yeah I can see that. My question was more of whether everyone else sees him as a legit prospect :)

bye bye moose? maybe theyll bring up desalvo, give him one more hurl

I’m all in favor of calling AG the Former Attorney General. Now that he’s done with his day job, he can go back to being a prospect for the Yanks.
