I swear. Doug Mientkiewicz should just retire. When else is he going to hit .500?
is Whelan even on the 40man?
I’d think they should call up Alberto Gonzalez too , on fire in August, espcially with Jeter banged up.
No, Whelan is not on the 40-man. But you needn’t be on the 40-man to get a September call-up.
Carlos Gomez mentioned Pope again today, in regards to hoping the Yanks dont touch his mechanics. I agree with him those mechanics look great
Mike and I were just talking about Pope’s mechanics today, in response to that image. He’s got a few little kinks in there, but no one really has flawless mechanics. But judged alongside other minor league pitchers, yeah, he’s top notch in that category.
Love the stroy about the Chuck Finley guy. But that was poetic license right?
And this gets my nomination for Blog line of the year:
Oh, and can Reggie Willits & Howie Kendrick switch names already and restore order back to the universe?
Three years from now, who will more people consider the biggest steal of this draft? Brackman late first round, Pope 3rd round or Justin Snyder 21st round?
