a lot of guys having success in short season could be simply because they are more advanced than the competition at that point in time. there has to be some correlation, but its obviously not as strong as any level above it

Justin Snyder is just impressing me more and more every day. The coaches say he's a natural leader, his teammates love him, and the guy can play 2B and CF with plus defense and a servicable 3B.

I know it is premature, but is there any correlation between Short Season stats and Major league success or is it too far off?

Dan, I was going to post the link to that video analysis of Pope as I saw it as well. Carlos Gomez is doing some interesting stuff over at the BA site. Too bad one of those things was a two-part special on Phil Hughes' mechanics and how Gomez thinks he is an injury risk (gulp).

ryan pope's gonna move quickly next season, despite playing college ball at the savannah college of art and design (and yes, they do have a baseball team). Carlos Gomez at THT broke down his video and concluded that his mechanics are near perfect.

#51 on the list

what should the yanks do with posada you know he is going to want at least 4yrs 60 mil i probably in the minority but posada is not a good defensive catcher he misses a lot of pitches that go for wild pitches and leads in the leauge in pass balls also must pitchers realy have aproblem with him just notice how manny time andy shakes him off mussina still doesnt like to pitch to him r j too and dont forget when clemons first came to the yanks same with el duque i would not give posada 4yrs maybe 2yrs for no more then 25mil what other option do the yanks have paul loduca is a F A rob boroas also i also think asmus is a F A can the yanks sign one of them to a 2yr deal and hope that cervilli or montero are the real deal cerville after a horrible 6 weeks is strating to hit again and i think he is a legit prospect how far away his he 2yrs i dont want the yanks to over pay and then have the same problem like they have today with giambi catchers usually lose it quickly

I wouldn't say that Anson is a legit prospect. He's hitting decently, but without a lick of power, in Low-A ball at 24 years old.

Yes, pitchers do rave about PJ Pilittere's game-calling skills. I can see him backing up in the majors.

Yeah, i can't figure out who would be sent down (Villone or karstens? hopefully farnsworth's gone?). Here are the articles (note kepner of the times says he 'could' be back as early as today:

Sorry to see Ohlendorf struggle in the bullpen. Just a couple of weeks back, it seemed his quick ticket to the Show.

Why on earth is Noel Castillo in rookie ball at his age? Has he just taken up pitching recently?

I see Eric Duncan is back in his "now I'll tease you with my potential" mode....Don't fall for it, people!
