Game 139: Wangster’s on it

We pick up the action in the top of the 5th…Wang’s on his game and Georgie’s already juiced one for a 1-0 lead.

Michael Kay’s currently blabbing about how Wang’s ERA is so ridiculously low when he pitches from the windup compared to when he’s pitching from the stretch. Read this to unstupify yourself.

  2. cjc says:

when you sig a contract with the yankees is there a clause that you must make any garbage with a +6 era look like cy young there is nothing more frustrating for a fan than this offense against crap the last 2 seasons

  3. Joseph P. says:

Michael Kay said that Ichiro is one of the greatest players of all time. Incidentally, Michael Kay is an idiot. Discuss.

  4. cjc says:

maybe its me but the singles machine that is Ichiro is a bit overrated

  5. Mike A. says:

The squirrel’s not nearly as bad as the monkey. Or the thunder sticks.

PS – He just crushed that pitch. It’s amazing how he doesn’t even appear to swing that hard, yet the ball still goes into orbit.

  6. Mike A. says:

I highly doubt Derek Jeter drives a flaming orange Ford Edge.

  7. Mike A. says:

Did Kay just call him Chicken Wing Wang?

  8. Joe says:

Alex kind of has a flair for the dramatics, kind of like those soccer players. I thought he was out with the way he reacted, then he’s hurt, really badly, but not really. It’s not like the NBA where he’s got to flop for a foul.

  9. cjc says:

holy crap seattle has a small country in the dugout look out NY the Java hippies are invading

  10. cjc says:

hardly a flop as steroid Beltre fell on his leg

  11. Joe says:

Following in A-Rod’s inspiration, I stubbed my toe really badly, but still made it the fridge to grab another beer. It’s time’s like this that you really got to suck it up and give it your all.

  12. Mike A. says:

The Former Attorney General! He resigned to follow his dream of playing for the Yanks, and it came true!

  13. Joe says:

I thought Alberto Gonzalez had played a bit with the Diamondbacks, this is his first MLB at bat?

  14. Mike A. says:

For the fucking love of god, it’s 11-1, why is Luis Vizcaino in this game?!?!

  15. Mike A. says:

Wladimir’s going deep here. Dude’s got major power.

  16. Jake T says:

Nice to see Nick Green hasn’t lost the immense talent he had with us

  17. Joe says:

This is the thing with september call-ups like Britton, you’ve got to give them a feel before you toss them into the fire, it’s good to see him getting some work, he seems like a guy that could have helped us this year. The thing is, a guy needs to work a year in the minors after each year doing pretty well in the A.L east. I mean when the guy doesn’t have much weight behind him like Edwar, you have to be careful with his development you don’t know how his body will hold up. Hurrah to the Yankees, testing out the young guys, fulfilling a guys dream. That’s one day now give him another year to recuperate and he could possibly fill an inning that is just as important next year. Mark this day, Mark it men, for this is the day the Yankees have turned the corner.

  18. steve (different one) says:

i guess alex went for an X-Ray just to complete the acting bit so the ump wouldn’t go back in time and call him out. he’s nothing if not thorough.
