Wait, wait. Sorry. That’s wrong. The Yankees are going to have face-to-face conversations with the Alex Rodriguez camp in an effort to convince the presumptive AL MVP not to opt out. I guess that’s news.

they will get something done. but it’s not going to get finalized until the very last minute, so there’s not much point speculating until then. that’s the way Boras operates. in the end, he’ll “cave” for a 4-5 year extension at $26-28M per year.

What is getting very little press is the Rangers’ perspective. They must be praying that ARod will opt out to save them millions of dollars over the next 3(?) years.

What more can they do other than pray? “Rangers hope that A-Rod opts out”…duh, that’s not a very juicy story.

  it would be illegal for any team to be bidding “under the table”. but i am sure they are doing it anyway.
