It only takes one stupid GM to bid against himself and drive the price up. That said, I think the Yankees are wise not to pursue him at this point. Not worth it to pay him more than thirty milion a year, especially when he'll be over 40 when the contract expires. Factor in the loss of the Texas moneys and it just wouldn't be logical for the yankees to go any higher. I don’t find it hard to believe that some team will reach that number.
