The Arizona Fall League kicks off on Tuesday, so this space get a little more exciting in a few days. Be patient.

HWB Honolulu (15-1 win over North Shore)
Ajax: 2 for 5, 2 R, 1 2B, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K – led off the 11-run 7th inning with a walk, and doubled home two later in the frame
Brad Suttle: 0 for 3, 2 R, 2 BB, 1 K – made the last out of the 11-run inning on a called strike three…

Man, what can you say about Phil tonight; “coming up big” doesn’t quite do┬áhim justice. The kid saved the season, almost singlehandedly. You da man Phil, you da man.

The whole deal with Ajax slumping has me worried about Miranda doing the same in the AFL. I think Ajax is wearing down – last year was his first full season focusing on baseball and now this year he had another big jump in games played between the playoffs and HWB.

I was kind of surprised that they sent Miranda to the AFL after being out of baseball for the last 2 years. I hope he’s up for it

I think Miranda will do fine in the AzFL, it’s a hitter’s paradise as you know.

Before last year, Ajaz had played no more than a HS schedule, so it’s no shock he’s tiring. Plus HWB is a bit more pitcher friendly, so that’s working against him too. Miranda played for the Cuban national team for years, and they play basically year round. I’m sure he’ll be fine.
