Pete says:

Leyritz was my hero growing up (1992 to 1996). The bat twirl/foot stomp/helmet adjustment was something me and my friends attempted during every little league practice.

Ben K. says:

You’re not alone there, Pete. I think everyone who grew up watching the Yanks then tried to figure out just how Leyritz did that bat twirl.

mg says:

As much as I loved Leyritz, I’m glad we’re keeping Pena as our first base coach. Sorry Jimmy but Pena has proven himself with us and there’s no reason to be looking to replace him.

I can’t find a video of that bat twirl… I totally wanted to emulate it.

You know… in my beer league softball game. But seriously, find me a video.

Mike A. says:

How different would the Yankees be right now if Jimmy didn’t hit that homer in ‘96?

Jamal G. says:

The funny thing is, how different would the Red Sox be if Dave Roberts didn’t steal that base?

davi says:

what would of happened if Boone didn’t hurt his knee or w/e playing bball. Maybe we would have never gotten Arod?

Travis G. says:

what if Jeff Maier hadn’t reached over the wall?
