For the second time in a week, Joe Torre turned down an offer of a job. This time, he declined an offer from FOX to join Tim McCarver and Joe Buck in the broadcast booth during the World Series. Insert your own “insulting offer” joke here.

Jeb says:

Torre was insulted that Fox would not guarantee a 7 game series, promising only that he could work 4 games with incentives for more. Torre said. “Seven games certainly, I think, would have opened the door to have further discussion but it never happened.

“There really was no negotiation involved. I was hoping there would be. But there wasn’t,” he added.

Ben K. says:

I was thinking more along the lines of Torre insulted to be asked to work with Buck and McCarver, but hey, that works too.

Randy L. says:

Ahh, he’s insulted at everything. I got him that gig! I can’t believe it, it’s shocking that he turned it down. I tried, but you can thank me anyway.

Mike A. says:

This is totally off-topic, but that was a ridiculous AB by Garko.

Mike R. says:

Also off topic, but this umpiring crew has been awful! The strike zones (thats right zones. As in more than one) that call on Lofton. I’m upset and it’s not even my team.
