T.J. Beam signs with Pirates

By Joseph Pawlikowski

After being non-tendered on Wednesday, T.J. Beam has signed with the Pirates. The Yankees have plenty of options for middle relievers that are equal to if not better than Beam, so it makes sense that he’d sign elsewhere.

At least we kept Rasner. I figure there’s a decent chance we hang onto Mighty Matt, too.

Good for him.

I have nothing against Beam, but he did not seem good enough to keep in the Yanks 40 man roster, so I guess Pavano’s absolute douchebaggery served a purpose…

I hope it works out for TJ. He was one of those fringy guys who put gaudy minor league numbers, but never would have gotten a real chance with the Yanks. Hopefully he wins a job out of ST and earns himself a bunch of money.
