what is your point exactly? that if the Yankees can get Santana without giving up their top prospects, they should do it?

No we can’t, not to meantion I wouldn’t be happy if we trade away Tabata + Jackson + Montero + Betances … those are all single A or under prospect too .

I’m sure thats what the Twins are thinking. Trading him to the Yanks closes the WC for them for the next few years. They’re not thinking how can we get better and how can we put a championship team on the field in 2010 when we move into our new building.

I’m sure they really care about the WC ramifications especially in ‘08 and ‘09. If they did they would just keep him and play out the string.

If they do they are an inept front office.

They should be taking the best deal and targeting the best prospects they can. If its 4 low level Grade B and higher propects from the Yankees, so be it.

If the Yankees can get him for prospects in their lower levels they should jump at it.

right. you can’t forget that the Twins would MUCH rather trade Santana to the NL.

trading Santana to the Yankees or Sox basically closes off the Wildcard for the Twins for the next 3-4 years.

Lanny, you’re being a homer. Martinez spend 2007 in AA, Mulvey split the year between AA and AAA. Humber spent time in the bigs. They aren’t A-ball prospects.

Martinez is a stud, he’s the next Carlos Lee. Mulvey is not a 5th starter/long man, he’s a #3 guy, very comparable to Horne. Same thing with Humber, but he’s more along Marquez’s line.

Just because we can put together a better package that the Mets doesn’t mean the Twins will take it.
