What’s up, Chuck?

To follow up on what is quickly turning out to be one of the stranger stories of the Winter of Our Steroidal Discontent, Duff Wilson of The Times reports that, as of Thursday afternoon, Chuck Knoblauch had still not been found. Therefore, he has not yet been served his subpoena. To call this weird would be an understatement.

    Fight the power Chuck.

    Why even call him?

The gov’t is so full of crap its funny.

  • Rich

They obviously believe that he may have relevant information.

The government has a reasonable basis to subpoena him. If he thinks that the Feds won’t find him, he may have another kind of drug problem.

  • A-Point

I would laugh if he is sitting at home.

  • E-ROC

LOL, Chucky dipped out of the country.

  • Colin

Good for him. Stick it to the man Chuck!

I happen to think that if you go after anyone named in the Mitchell Report, Chuck Knoblauch cannot be near the top of your list. Yet, the government seems to think that he knows something – probably more about Roger than his own steroid use.

I mean, why else would they want to talk to him?

Good for Chuck. He’s doing nothing wrong and is still managing to avoid them. Give the guy a break for once.

Personally I think he’s taking up the RIP Bobby Fischer tradition of bucking the establishment by going to play chess in Iceland.

Either that or he and his white Bronco safely crossed the border.

I’m starting to wonder if he and Andy just don’t want to be with Roger in this mess; the specter of his rage is not something I would want to deal with if the goods on Knoblauch and Pettitte via McNamee, as we have obvious reason to believe, hold up.

Great stuff. I always thought the subpoena serving process made for great comedy. Go, Chuck, go!

It is sort of weird. Even if he’s legitimately off on a hunting trip or vacation, you would think one of his friends would call him and say, “uh, the Feds are looking for you.” So, it seems like he means not to be found. Truthfully, if he goes to Mexico for a month, this may actually blow over. I’m not sure Congress really wants to disrupt the baseball season. They just want to do a little political grandstanding right before ST opens.
