By

Sorry I’ve been MIA, I started a new job this week and couldn’t spend all my time at work searching the far ends of the interweb for minor league goodies. It appears most of the players have gone home to finally get some rest, so this will be the last Winter Ball update of the offseason.

  1. Realist says:

If Gonzales can hit 280 and steal a few bases plus live up to his supposed defensive wizardry………..Mr. Jeter better learn another position ;-)

  2. Grant says:

    Jeezy-Creezy

  3. dan says:

Scott Patterson is an absolute monster– 100 innings out of the ‘pen this year. Any shot of making the big league club now that he’s on the 40-man?

  4. Realist says:

Patterson may be a “wild card” in relation to the pen. He wasn’t added to the roster for shits and giggles ;-)

    • Mike A. says:

Actually, he was a minor league free agent, and I think the Yanks had to give him a big league deal to avoid losing him to another club. But still, it was a wise move.

  5. dan says:

Albaladejo also pitched 100 innings this year…. What are they trying to do to these guys? I realize he was with the nationals when he pitched his 26 winterball innings, but you’d think they might want him to still have an arm attached (not everyone is scott proctor) :)

  6. Ben K. says:

If anything, I’d think that Gonzalez’s positive winter will give him some confidence. That never hurts.

  7. Dan L. says:

How about the impressive stat line from Montero. 81 AB, batting .358 w/ 6 HR and .630 slugging? he’s going to be a monster DH/1B in like 2/3 years. and he’s only 18 right now.
