Youk needs a Slump Buster
ByYeah, we all know what a Slump Buster is. Now, Kevin Youkilis is endorsing an energy drink of the same name. The name would work a lot better if it was a Sparks kinda thing.
I wonder if Slump Buster has what plants crave.

he is a female athlete’s “slump buster”
I think that piece of garbage might still have some slump buster stuck in his beard… he stinks.
Can’t wait till Joba puts one between the numbers next year.
He’s the kind of guy that you’d find prowling around chat rooms made for 14-yr old girls at 3am with the screen name “Youkilicious.”
This will forever be my lasting image of Kevin Youkilis.
LOL — that’s just too…perfect.
I know you guys love to hate on Youk. But stop and consider as an eighth round draft pick he has made himself into a heck of a ML player. Youkilis was drafted after John-Ford Griffin, Bronson Sardinha, Jason Arnold, Aaron Rifkin and Jon Skaggs. Where are they?
There isn’t much pretty about Youk, but he is a really good ballplayer!
Just to keep things in perspective, Don Mattingly was a 19th round pick.
Albert Pujols was a 13th round pick. Mike Piazza was a 62nd round pick. There are plenty of better stories than Youk’s. Now finding someone uglier…there is a challenge.
BTW Why come Youkilis don’t have a tattoo?
Who is knocking Don Mattingly. The fact that he was drafted so low and had such a fine career is to his credit.
My point is Youkilis wasn’t given an easy path. He has worked his way to the majors (as I’m sure that Mattingly also did) and Red Sox fans have a special affection towards him for that. Besides he is a great teammate that will do whatever the manager ask; play 1B, 3B LF; bat 1st, 2nd, 6th, 7th, 9th.
Also, in the same way I hated to see Paul O’Neil and still hate to see Jeter or Matsui bat in key situations. They are never an easy out. I’m certain that Youkilis evokes a similar reaction from Yankee fans. He battles every at bat.
Hey, the guy is a yapper, he brings a kind of “football mentality” to the game. Every strike and every at bat seems “life or death” with Youk. He bears down on every throw to fist and although he doesn’t run fast he is a better than average base runner. We love him for that!

He is not a handsome man. Perhaps he should have a few “Tats”.
