It contains a brilliant quote regarding the Proctor-Betemit deal: “Our people were right,” Cashman said. “We had Proctor in other forms. It was just that [fans] didn’t know the names yet.” Word up.



Call it a brain fart – I don’t know? But what is meant by “We had Proctor in other forms. It was just that [fans] didn’t know the names yet?”
He means that they had guys like Joba, Edwar, Ohlendorf and Veras in Triple-A.
The arm the intrigue me the most or at least one of them, is Mark Melancon.
They say his velocity isn’t back yet. But if he can get back to what he was 100%.
but I do think he has the potential to pull a K-Rod (who he has been compared to interms of FB and CB) in 02.

With sites like RAB most fans now know single A prospects names.
Not most fans. People who read blogs like these. Up until a year or two ago, I didn’t know much about the Yankee minor leaguers, and I’m a pretty rabid fan.
Yeah, ditto here. RAB has certainly made me a better fan.
