Also Realist, I don't care if you say bad things about the Sox, sometimes I even agree. This is still America and we all have the right to free speech. I just disagree with the old adage that everybody has a right to their opinion. I think everybody has a right to an informed opinion which is another reason I come here because the site and the fans are a great source of information about the yankees.

I come here because I think true fans should try to understand both sides of the rivalry. I've found many intelligent fans here that I enjoy talking to and I've also found a lot of passion which has just proven my point that fans of the Sox and fans of the yanks are basically the same cretaures, just wearing different jerseys and hats.

I also visit websites dedicated to the Mets, Blue Jays, Indians, Tigers and Angels as well. Oddly enough, a lot of the folks on those sites spend their time worrying about what the Sox and yanks are doing. But there is clearly not the passion there that I find here or at Sons of Sam Horn, or at Boston Dirt Dogs, etc.

You constantly insult .....

I don't get why you would even want to come here? Oh that's right , to make sure us bad Yankee fans don't say anything bad about the sox! Or get too full of ourselves and beloved team , which this blog is dedicated to. Wow , the self appointed sox , blog cop for RAB...you have reached the pinnacle of your kind!

Duncan should go for #99, just because, well, he's basically a defensive end

The Yankee number crunch is actually kinda interesting to a geek like me. What made it tough for them this year is that two of their coaches last year wore retired numbers (Gator, Donnie Baseball), leaving two extra active numbers in use for players.

It's a stressful time to be a Yankee clubhouse manager. Maybe they'll start using decimals, or fractions, or negative numbers, or hexadecimals, or...

You're right Zack. I also believe that yanks fans aren't bad people. As it is with Sox fans though, there are some who are bad, but it's not because of who they root for, it's just who they are.

I've told the story for years of my trip to the stadium three days before 9/11, wearing a Sox Jersey and a Sox Hat. I got a couple of funny looks, which I deserved, but nobody said a bad word to me. In Fenway, I've seen yankees fans with beer dumped on them and with hot dogs hurled at them for no apparent reason. It's embarrassing to see because not all Sox fans think it's okay. I realized way back, before the two World Series titles, that a lot of yanks fans just didn't care about Sox fans because we had nothing valid to say. Unfortuanately many Sox fans are still like a snotty little brother who eventually grows up to be bigger than you and can't handle it with maturity.
Smart Sox fans, and there are some, keep our mouths shut because we realize it's inevitable that someday the yankees will be the bigger brother again and what goes around comes around.

realist, I didn't insult anybody on the site with my comments so could you please leave the past in the past? If you want to get into another pissing contest, you'll have to find somebody else. Ben K already asked us to knock it off once already.....also, I'd never insult, or question your family. Some areas are just off limits.

I said o'neill had a shitty attitude because I remember him getting so pissed off at being unable to get a handle on the ball in the outfield that he actually kicked it back to the infield.

I also complemented him for being a fantastic player, which he was. You could tell how good a player he was by the fact that he was booed in most of the road cities he played he in. Fans certainly don't waste their time booing the lesser players.

Geno, you're right he absolutely was a winner and a hardass like him would probably have paid great dividends for the yankees these last few seasons.
