Can Moose just retire already? Do we really have to watch him bitch all year again?
YES gun is 4 mph faster than a real gun?
Moose has the curve workin’.
Just in from Kay’s mouth: “Mussina looks like Micheal Jackson in the Thriller Video”
Kyle Farnsworth and a quick inning shouldn’t belong in the same planet but that’s why just happened there…
Heh, Beckett left Boston’s game with back spasms before throwing a pitch. Buchholz also gave up 2 more homers yesterday (on consecutive pitches, no less). Hooray for pitching depth.
Must be tough carrying that massive gut around.
It’s ST Mike A.
Although I will say this, I do think the Red Sox are a tad overrated.
It’s ST for me too, I need to work on my Red Sox jokes.
Karstens look pretty sharp right now actually..
Yo David Price looks solid.
John Sterling just said that the yankees have their own left handed pitching prospect drafted this past year to match David Price - according to Sterling that would be Andrew Brackman.
holy shit Dave Price is a monster… not that it’s a secert
This Price kid has a shot to be a decent pitcher, I’d say.
heh, that’s a way to put it
Great googely moogley.
Nasty
Holy crap. Price is sick.
I thought Brackman is right-handed.
He is. Sterling’s a nitwit.
I checked the Yankees site roster, it lists Brackman as R/R.
Man, Cervelli’s taking a beating today. His season ended last year after a collision at the plate.
According to Pete Abraham, Cervelli has a fractured wrist.
Cervelli’s a tough kid. Getting hit by a Price fastball and then holding on in that collision. And why on earth are they knocking catchers over in spring training?
Yo Tabata looked huge yo
I dunno, he seems fine to me. He’s not fat, but he’s not skinny.
Price sat at around 97. It was probably because he was souped right? I had read that he basically sat low 90s. Just making sure. BTW, I thought that Tabata looked big in his photo, but today it seemed like he looked solid.
Usually he sits 92-93. The YES gun is always a little hot, plus I’m sure Price was a little amped up in his first ever game action as a pro. He was damn impressive - no problems pitching inside (even after hitting Cervelli) and that slider was just filthy.
I saw him pitch a game last season on TV, and he wasn’t as electric in that game as he was today.
Wait, wait, he only “sits” 92-93?? I thought you couldn’t be a dominant pitcher and sit at 92-93, especially if your name is Phil Hughes. At least, that’s what I’ve learned from reading papers and waswatching
zack, you’ve been a longtime reader and commentor, but I’m disappointed in you. It’s a well known fact that to be a successful pitcher, 96-97 is the bare minimum velocity.
That is, after all, why Josh Beckett is the greatest pitcher ever, right? I mean, other than because he plays the game right, of course.
Exactly, he plays the game right. He uses a glove to catch, cleats to run, and during interleague play, a bat to hit.
wow price is a fuckin monster
he could solve the closer problem for the rays.
or he could solve the lack of a Randy Johnson in his prime with control problem.
Either way, he’ll be up by july, i guaruntee it. I just wish the rays would move to the NL central so that they could have a guarunteed playoff spot (and not hand us 8-10 losses a year).
The Rays are going to be good, very soon.

Thanks for the mention, Mike.
