I was very impressed with Wang today. His change-up looked great, better than I've ever seen it. It was low in the strike zone and had the same movement as his sinker--a consistent change like that would be a serious pitch for Wang.

I like the belt high four seamers that he's been throwing, too. That's a good sign. Between a consistent change and an elevated four seamers Wang will 1.) keep hitters more honest(especially the lefties) and 2.) raise his K total significantly again, this season.

Oh, I'm all for Patterson. I'm pro-Rasner as long reliever/spot starter.

Rasner was decent today, although I still think that spot should go to Scott Patterson, hands down. Maybe two different roster spots, though, with Patterson being more of a short guy, Rasner being a long guy.

Good to hear that Rasner pitched well. If he's right, he's better than Karstens.

Who cares who gets the press. Right now, the Yanks (at least for them) are flying a little under the radar with the CW being that they won't have enough pitching to get it done this year.

No complaints about being in that position. Let all of the media fawn over to BoSox signing Colon instead.

I think IPK likes the postion he is in. Just refer to yesterdays thread about Joba getting a little distracted from all the media. Even Hughes likes JOba taking the heat.

Its just scouting. Its also possible they could trade him to the AL east. Then that scoouting is all the more valuable. Scenarios like this are the exact reason you have scouts.

a "question" capped off with 3 question marks implies that beyond your uncertainly, lies an accusatory air of incredulousness. plus, i see some defensiveness in your second reply, too.

Ben, I like to think he welcomes the challenge...but that's being super optimistic
