Tickets for the rest of us

Trying to predict the AL East
Okay, how about Hughes and Joba for Blanton?

Richard Sandomir chatted with Yankees COO Lonn Trost yesterday about ticket prices in the new Stadium, a topic near and dear to our hearts recently. For now, it sounds like single-game seats and season ticket holders will have seats that are not as good as they could get now. On the money front, the Yanks say tickets won’t be “significantly more” next year, but if that’s not a loaded phrase, I don’t know what is.

I see the yankees are giving the media yet another reason to hate them, but as a fan of the team, who liked the idea of spending 20 bucks to see a game, this really sucks.

Oh the days when I sat in seats right behind home plate, about 10 rows back, for about $8 a ticket…

I got my 2008 Plan C tickets today and the ticket for the last game looks like the gold ticket from Charlie and the chocolate factory… LOL. It’s very nice actually. However, and i know it’s a sin to say this on this site, I’m thinking of selling it just to be able to fund my package for next year. I have not been told what’s the ransom I mean price for my plan next year, but I’m sure I will be helping the Yanks plant a few trees.

I’ll be posting about this topic on my blog later this weekend

But for now, let’s just say that after reading Sandomir’s piece, I have to ask: In regards to the current stadium, what kind of “fan” woke up one day, said “Gee, I feel like going to Yankee Stadium to catch a game…. but DAMN!… there’s no concierge service at Yankee Stadium. How can I enjoy a game without a concierge? Screw it. I’m staying home.”

CONCIERGE service….? There’s no concierge in baseball! THERE’S NO CONCIERGE IN BASEBALL…..!!!!!!!

    I wanna go throw up…..

Just saw the bleachers will still remain the same price in 09, good news.

I see this as good news for a season ticket holder like myself in Tier Reserved MVP, section 1 right behind home plate.

From what I can gather, the price will be the same $25 per seat as it is this year. I have 4 years of seniority, so I don’t know where my new seat location will be and that is my concern. Right now I am DEAD center, although in the nosebleed-ish row M. However, you can ALWAYS see every play and the birds eye view allows you to know if a ball is going to get up the middle before Jeter slowly makes a feeble attempt at it and it squirts through (I kid, I kid – I love Jete).

So basically, seat prices for us poor folk look to remain the same. Seat location? A WHOLE different story.

I have a 46 game b-plan, 4 years of seniority and I sit in section 1, TIer Reserved MVP.

I will report back on my blog when I have more info.

Sorry Ross, but the nine tier MVP sections behind home plate are being replaced by “premium” seats that start at $100/seat and require at multi-year commitment (2-10 years). All of us MVP partial season ticket holders (I’m in 606 row A) are being pushed away from home plate. I actually considered buying them, but was told that they are only available for the full (81 game) season plan.

I’m probably going to move around near first or third, but those of us who want to stary behind home may push out (or up) some of you tier reserved folks.
