Follow us on TwitterLock your laptops, folks. Clay Buchholz, he of the stolen laptops (and, yes, a Major League no-hitter), is making his first start against the Yankees tonight. Buchholz had a bad Spring Training and lost his first start of the season.
The Yankees, meanwhile, are countering with their ace. Chien-Ming Wang has looked exceptional this year so far. In two starts covering 13 innings, Wang is 2-0 with a 1.38 ERA. He’s given up 10 hits while walking four and, encouragingly, striking out eight. He’s keeping the ball low and keeping runners off base.
Tonight, though, will be a challenge for Wang. He’s facing a Red Sox team that has, by and large, hit him well over the last few seasons. David Ortiz, currently mired in a 3 for 36 drought to start the season, is 15 for 30 against Wang; Manny Ramirez is 13 for 22; and Kevin Youkilis is 7 for 21. As a team, the Sox hit Wang at a .300/.394/.442 clip and six of the 30 career HRs allowed by the sinkerball specialist have come off the bats of the Red Sox.
The Yankees go with something of a different lineup tonight. Johnny Damon is getting the night off, and the hot-hitting Melky Cabrera will lead off. The game, weather permitting, starts at 7:05 p.m., and we get to experience the drama of a Yankees-Red Sox three-game set all over again.

Not really. Very optimistically he could have played today, but because of the cold and weather, the Yanks are holding him out. He probably won’t play until Tampa, and even then I’m guessing he’ll DH while Posada moves back behind the plate.
It is NOT cold here. I just played basketball.
Game time temp is 47 degrees. That’s cold enough to have Jeter sit this one out. I have no problem with that now.

It’s funny how so much attention is paid to the character of athletes these days by the media and if I am not mistaken Sports Illustrated has been the only major national media outlet to report on Clay Buchholz’s actions in college.
I finally get to see that changeup in person with Clay Buhholz and I’ve been eager for awhile now. They say he’s quick to the plate so let’s see how the Yankees execute their running game on a guy who excels on his changeup and curveball.

Lots of people here in Boston upset thet Coco is playing. Speculation is that the Sox are showcasing Crisp for a trade. The management claims that crisp is a good fastball hitter. More likely Ellsbury plays the next couple of days.

nah, i got Comcast Digital Cable, only have the package not the actual channels as well. so whatever broadcast they show (usually the home team’s) im stuck with.
aw that stinks, direct tv has both home and away feed.
actually, i dont mind cause i get to watch the different teams broadcasts which is at times kinda cool. and since ive lived in Miami since 1990, i am used to watchin Yankees games w/o Yankees broadcasters. heck, i remember Scooter and Bill White as a kid when i lived in NY, anytime a Yankees player hit a HR, it was Scooter sayin, “Hey Don Mattingly (for example), this Bud’s for you!!!!” Classic.
