What do these moves say about Betemit? I mean seriously, how long does it take to return from pink eye? Eyedrops one day and cured the next. Obviously Gonzalez and Ensberg are held in much higher regard.

He can certainly play 2B better than Betemit, our backup IF coming out of spring training.

Thats cool, I just watched the rockies game last night and that was one for the ages. Third baseman goes out in warmups, Rockies use their backup catcher at third. Then SS pulls a quad, and 2nd baseman goes to SS and atkins had to cover 2nd. It just got me thinking.

Ever since Jeter has made his way back into the lineup Gonzo has been playing 2B, he's the UTIL IF for this team as it stands (except for 1B).

Yes he can. He's already played second quite well during one game this season.

But here's a question, if Cano has to go out of a game, can Alberto play second? It looks like we could have some big problems if there is an infield injury/ ejection.

Glad to see that Bruney is giving the boot a chance. There is no upside from surgery right now. Why not let it ride for 60 days?

I'm a bit surprised by this. They could have DFA's him in spring training if they thought this little of him. Since Traber is back in the minors, it doesn't seem like Traber beat Henn out of a roster spot. They could also put Karstens on the 60 day DL to clear roster space for Moeller, so that isn't the reason either. The whole thing just doesn't make much sense.

Not that I am upset about this. If it were up to me, I probably would have DFA's Henn at the end of spring training, since I'd rather have Brittain on the roster than Henn. Not sure what took the Yankees a month to come to the same conclusion.
