Is Betances pretty much on a 5 inning limit for each outing? Or is he on a pitch count limit and he meets it every time he pitches within 5 innings?

I believe it’s generally a good thing to promote someone who’s having a good year for the last month or so, just to get his feet wet. There’s always an adjustment period, so maybe a month at a higher level will get that out of the way and Montero could start ’09 feeling more comfortable in Tampa if he plays the last month of this season there. If Montero’s hitting .345/.440/.550 then I think he should spend August and the playoffs (?) in Tampa.

Still way too early, but I’m guessing you could see guys like Suttle, Snyder, Hacker, Pendleton and Pilittere moved up. They’re not going to promote Jesus Montero, and why would you. He’s an 18-yr old catcher, let him rake and learn how to catch at a comfortable level.
