I think people were surprised at how much they welcomed him back once he made it clear he wanted to be in pinstripes for the rest of his career. Nothing says loving like "I want to be a Yankee." Not from the brothers Stein, not from the NYY fans. None of us were clear he wanted to be here prior to this year. He's ours now and we now see him as one of ours. So we'll stick with him.

It seems A-Rod does have something in the bank when it comes to love from the fans though. I remember that game in Seattle in 2006 where he K'ed 4 times and the media, fans, and everyone you can think of was up in arms. Everybody couldn't wait to get a word in about how horrible he looked and how much of a choke artist he is and how he can't perform in NY (even though he won an MVP just that season prior). Hell, BBTN even led their show that night with the story. It was hilarious because just soon after Manny Ramirez struck out four times and you didn't hear a peep from any ESPN show. Anyway back to my point, A-Rod K'ed 4 times but there is not that big of an uproar and that is really great to see, have the fans really turned the corner or is he on limited time?

arod looks pretty rough right now. jumping out early, and chasing pitches low and outside. i've never liked how streaky he is -- he often seems to look effortlessly dominant or jumpy and lost. it looks like the calmer he is at the plate, the better he hits.

Greinke. The Yanks are going to be completely off balance thanks to the way he changes speeds and pitches backwards. Tonight has ugly potential.

Who is pitching for the Royals today?

The umpire from yesterday's game was terribly inconsistent.
