guess nobody thinks hosmer is going to fall all the way to 28 and the yanks. there was specualtiion that because he was repotedly demanding 7 million dollar sining bonus that he may have fallen to the yanks.

now that th yankes have started to care about the draft - puting time , effot, and most imprtantly over slot money inti it - i actually find it interseting.

hoping for another brackman this season.

also, the picks appear to go by record - why not where the teams finished in the playoffs. the indians beat the yanks and still pick ahead of them -that is absurd in my opinion

if you havent seen it yet, take a look at jayson stark's latest aticle about off-season trades - http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/story?columnist=stark_jayson&id=3386182

i particularly found the DBacks/A's deal interesting. true they gave up a tn, but haren partned with webb at the top of theat staff followed by owings and RJ makes them a serious WS contender. In fact it will be tough for a team to beat them in a short series - remeniscent of 2001. those who still hate cashman for not pulling the trigger on the johan deal need look no further than the haren deal to get your blood boiling

funny though that the big deal detoit made isnt paying the dividends that they thouht as there is speculation that cabrera is dogging it

Here's a database of this year's mock drafts:

http://dcprosportsreport.com/MLBMocks.htm

There is no limit to how many compensation picks a team can receive. A few year ago the Pads had like, 7 total picks in the first round (included supplemental round).

besides baseball america - anyone know any sites that have any draft projections. i would love to see one that doesnt only have them ranked, but also when they are expected to be drafted because of signing bonusses.

also - does anyone know if there is a maxximum number of compensation picks a team can get because the yanks stand to get a few although they will probably lose a few as well

Mike Martin's All-FSU team could do serious damage against a lot of other squads. I watched Buster Posey Day (where his younger brother played 1B for the 'Noles), and he's got a solid, albeit metal, stroke. My question though, is where will he play? He moved from short to catcher, where he looked all right, not #1 overall good, but all right; I'll chalk that up to his not catching full time.

The biggest issue with him, as with anyone else, how much will his swing has to be re-done to handle wood. Hopefully, whoever takes him will not do to him what the Pirates did bith van Benshotten - keep him as a pitcher. Posey will probably hit, and he's good enough as a reliever now to possibly shift over and pitch if he fails as a hitter.
