He now joins the long list of players that Cashman didn't know when to sell high when he had a chance. Knowing Brian, he'll wait til Igawa's final year and then trade him for someone like Esteban Loiaza who has 3 years left on his contract. Simplistic to think so, but maybe Matsuzaka and Okajima are saying he's a good pitcher, and if Boston thinks they can get him for next to nothing it may be a nice political move. I can't wrap my head around that exactly, but from a dollars standpoint it might be a risk they are willing to take. It's not like they would have to pay us a posting fee... For what it's worth, I was at the Santana start on Saturday at the lovely dump that is Shea Stadium. He gave up 10 hits in 6 innings and wasn't particularly sharp.
