Chad Jennings has great connections. If I were a NY paper I would jump at the chance to get him on my staff. I know several people that work for the Scranton paper and they love it there and it would take a lot for them to move.

Chad Jennings is the best. Have to read his notes each day to appreciate what this guy does. Hopefully he gets a chance, and gets called up to the big team in the near future. An excerpt from the Chad.

“No sooner had I written all of this than a visiting scout randomly started raving about Aceves. I didn’t bring up Aceves, but apparently the scout saw him pitch last week in Harrisburg. In the scouts words, he was a “man pitching to boys.” Said he wouldn’t be surprised to see Aceves in New York by the end of the season. Amazing how many people keep saying that.

The same scout loves Gardner. Compared him to Brett Butler, which sounds about right to me.”

Regardless of the loss to the Pirates, this gets you excited for what this team may be in the second half. Aceves is the Mexican signing this past year and he may be ready sooner than later to unseat Rasner or Geise or Ponson, whichever one is holding up that 5th spot. Hopefully Hughes and Kennedy come back soon and make some kind of impact as well.

I don't see the logic in throwing Melancon as much as has lately. Over his last 10 games, 26.2 innings to bump up to 54. In each of those 10outings he has thrown at least two innings. He might as well be doing this for SWB. He has nothing more to prove in Trenton. Cox is only at 26 ip even with his short stint on the DL.

Why is it "too bad Gardner is a lefty" and not "what a great story and opportunity for Christian." This is actually a great story. A guy who was undrafted, had enough confidence in himself to pursue his dream, and made it to the bigs by performing. It is the American Dream! Gardner will get an opportunity IMO. I actually think that the Yanks simply want BG to play everyday, as opposed to being in and out of the lineup as Christian probably will be. But don't miss the story that is right in front of our face because Christian has worked just as hard as Gardner and probably had a harder way up because he was a free agent signing as opposed to a high draft choice.

Cox just back from arm tiredness & coming off TJ makes me thing that Robertson (who I believe has never been injured) would get called up first

Can we say LOGJAM !

With JB Cox back before schedule, does this mean that he's replaced David Robertson as the first potential BP callup? The pressure to promote one of these guys has got to be mounting in the Bronx.

Is there a shot Cox or Robertson see the majors before the All-star break?

p.s., What's with the amount of work Melancon has been getting? It seems like the Yanks aren't doing a good job monitoring his IP ... i think he's already over 50.

But as soon as they bring him up, the offense will show him how to reverse that to 5 for 17. Robbie and Melky will show him how to hack like you do in the bigs. Jeter will teach him how to ground into a double play. Then Robbie and Melky will teach him dances and handshakes and shouts whenever he does something even remotely helpful. And all will be SOP in Yankeeland.
