My respect for DotF’s gone up a notch with Mike gone. This takes a looong time to compile, and I’m only doing the short version. More from me in a bit when I opine on the Yankees’ 4-2 loss to Edinson Volquez and the Reds.
AAA Scranton-Wilkes Barre lost to the Toledo Mud Hens 8-4. (Box Score)
Dan McCutchen – 5 IP, 9 H, 6 R, 5 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, L (1-5) – Struggling a bit at AAA
Juan Miranda – 5 for 5, 2 2B, 2 RBI – Daaamn. He pulled a Jolbert Cabrera.
Shelley Duncan – 0 for 4, 1 BB – Shelley is 1 for 14 with 6 walks since returning to AAA
AA Trenton lost to the Binghamton Mets 3-1. (Box Score)
Eric Hacker – 5 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 K, L (1-1)
Austin Jackson – 2 for 4, 1 2B
A Tampa downed the Lakeland Flying Tigers 3-2. (Box Score)
Jason Stephens – 5 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, W (1-0) – Not a bad Tampa debut for Stephens. He’s a bit old for the league though.
C.J. Henry – 0 for 1, 1 BB – Hitting .176 (3 for 17) so far this season. Hard to believe he was the lynch-pin in the Bobby Abreu trade.
A Charleston lost to the Columbus Catfish 11-8. Columbus scored 6 in the 8th to win. (Box Score)
Jesus Montero – 1 for 3, 1 BB, 2 R
Austin Romine – 1 for 3, 1 BB, 1 HR (4), 2 RBI
Brandon Laird – 2 for 4, 1 HR (6), 1 RBI – He’s got quite the picture on MiLB.com.
SS Staten Island lost to the Hudson Valley Renegades 3-1 in 11 innings. (Box Score)
Rookie league GCL Yankees won their season opener 3-2 over the GCL Indians. (Box Score)
I wouldn’t have much to say about this game except:
Dellin Betances – 2 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 3 K – I’m thinking this is a “rehab” assignment for Betances. By walking just one in two innings, he lowered his walk rate on the season.
Chase Weems – 1 for 1 with 1 BB, 1 PB, 1 runner stole – Pro debut for the Yanks’ 2007 6th rounder. And, yes, you can find him on Facebook.
