again with velocity? maddux throws 84, glavine throws 82, Moose throws 86. maybe he'll be good, maybe he wont, but his low-ish velocity doesn't inherently mean he won't succeed.

Not bad.... Montero will probably strike out a bit more, but hit for a similar average (Lee has a slightly below avg BABIP). Hopefully Montero can have better plate discipline in a few years than he does now.

how would you (anyone who actually has a good idea) compare montero's projected power to carlos lee? That was the first guy i was reminded of when I saw his spring training HR. Big guy, big swing, probably lives in the .260-.290 range during his mlb career?

Good to see Cutch have the outing that Thunder fans know he is capable of. Carson had a great night as well and has been excelling with his opportunities at SWB.

Don't really know what to make of Brandon Laird. He's been hot and cold all year but he's been hitting for pretty good power.

Solid stuff or not, Bleich is barely a back of the rotation starter with, an 86 mph in hour fastball which is probably the average of all his heaters today. It just seems the Yankees drafted a lefty specialist in the sandwich which would jus be a shame. And that's nothing against him as I like his makeup and poise. Just the facts.

I ran Matt Carson's Triple-A numbers through the MLE Calculator and his vital line came up to .303/.346/.454 with a 3:14 BB:K, 3(2B), 2(3B), 2HR and 26H in 84AB. I was thinking that maybe he and not Shelley Duncan might get the call to the Bronx when the Yankees drop Chad Moeller from the 25-man roster.

Carson also boasts a cool .120 ISO vs. LHP at Scranton. Albeit in a small sample size of 25ABs.

Jesse Hoover was out for so much time that the baseball cube thinks he's two different people. Type in his name and you get two Jesse Hoovers.

By the way, I saw an Eric Wordekemper clone tonight, and stared at him like "I KNOW you," but it obviously wasn't him because they're in Reading, PA right now. He and his friends stared me down after that, since it obviously wasn't him, and I seemed like some creepy dude staring at their friend.
