but you could replace him with a better offensive player in bonds who would just have to DH. .480 obp last season, and you can sign him at the league minimum

I realize he's only made it to Charleston so far but Jon Ortiz has insane career numbers. I hope it's not all due to the deceptive nature of his delivery. Does anyone have a scouting report on him?

Congratulations to the Los Angeles Dodgers, you have won a game without the benefit of a base hit.

There's no one out there to replace Matsui, but you'd see BG get to play the outfield, and yanks would be a faster team.

Signing Barry....I don't know it's been half a season, it might take awhile for him to round into form.

Too bad on Aceves with the minor set back, anyone know what's up with Marquez, Chad Jennings seems to say hes fine, but he's still on the DL.

I semi-remember the Hawkins game since I was only 9 yo but I remember watching it on TV. Afternoon game at I believe Detroit, and I remember Leyritz dropping a flyball in LF. Those 1990 Yankees were HORRIBLE.

Just looked it up, it was Cone's 1st start since coming off the DL, and the no-hitter was broken up with 1 out in the 9th. Yankees won 5-0 (Cone went 7, Mo the final 2).

I remember in 1996 when in David Cone's 1st start after coming off the DL (I think it was his 1st start after returning, couldve been 2nd start not sure) at Oakland on Labor Day he had a no-hitter after 7 and was removed due to pitch count since he was coming off the DL. Mariano lost the no-hitter in the 9th inning with either 0 or 1 outs dont remember exactly.
