Let Gardner continue to develop because whoever comes up is going to rot on the bench ala Shelly. The other advantage of Christian is that in a pinch, he can play 2b. I wish there were a readily available statistic tracking stolen base attempts per times on base but you can almost figure it out on your own from a regular stat line. All you really miss out on are exchanges of baserunners from fielder's choices and reached on errors. Some guys put it all together when they get called up, it's happened before. Maybe he has to make an adjustment because they're pounding him inside and that's the adjustment he needed to make to take his hitting to the next level BTW, Christian has a .337 OBP this season to Gardner's .410 and Gardner has stolen significantly more bases.
