Phil Coke: 2 IP, zeroes, 3 K – 21 baserunners allowed & 39 K in his last 30 IP … labrum’s fine, but he’s going to work out of the ‘pen the rest of the year because he’s getting up there in innings

Thanks to Tampa the Yankee orginization avoids 2 straight winless days

Rafi says:

Didn’t the SI Yanks win yesterday like 15-1?

A.D. says:

Yeah you’re right, 15-2 I believe, oops

Congrats to Melancon and Wright, getting the call-up AAA

Manimal says:

Gardner hasn’t changed much…

Andy in Sunny Daytona says:

He was able to see at least 11 pitches. Grinder.

A.D. says:

Too bad for Coke on the innings, he should be getting his chance at AAA with the trades

Brandon says:

Pittsburgh’s Huntington has to be pissed off Phil Coke is 100 % healthy and still throwing scoreless innings w/ 93 -94 mph velocity. Congrats to MELANCON and WRIGHT now it’s going to get interesting :)

Zack says:

Is there any possible reason for a AAA hitter to think a ML pitcher would be intentionally throwing at him? What a bunch of horse$#t

Manimal says:

It-hit-his-head.

Did he collapse on his way to Bruney or was he stopped.

Mike A. says:

Chris Stewart cut him off. “Charged the mound” might not have been the best phrase, more like he was running him mouth and walking towards the mound.

Brandon says:

Chris Stewart jumped in front of him. Bruney, as you’d expect, got pretty pissed when Ruiz started acting like an idiot, and both pitcher and batter were ejected. Bruney didn’t do anything over the top and must have said a magic word.

Manimal says:

thanks for the clarification.

Mike A. says:

Micah Owings sucks. 8 runs in 3 IP to the punchless Padres in Petco, raising his ERA to 5.93 on the year. And he’s hitting .275-.339-.375 with more K than times on base.

Where’s all the people who bitched that we should have gotten him instead of Ohlendorf in the RJ deal?

greg says:

hitting better than melky

I guess I will be the first one to ask the question.

Is there something wrong with Alan Horne?

Mike A. says:
blah says:

Well that’s weird. I don’t know what to do with that information.

Mike A. says:

Me neither, but it’s a better answer than I could have given you.

Hank Winkler says:

He’s not going to go Ankiel on us, is he?

Reggie C. says:

its called: INACTIVITY.

Reggie C. says:

My Phil Hughes projected stat line for tomorrow: 2 IP / 3 Hits / 1 ER / 2 K / 1 BB.

Matt says:

Wow, if I was that pitcher for Hickory, I’d be pissed. What manager takes out a pitcher that is pitching a no hitter through 8 innings? I mean I know it wouldn’t have been a perfect game, but still???

A.D. says:

Happened to Hacker earlier this season

Brian says:

What happened to CJ Henry?

Reggie C. says:

I think he signed a pro b-ball contract with that Greek team Olympikos. His fear of making any contact with pitches made him a pretty useless baseball player.

RustyJohn says:

Dear Cash,

Please get rid of Ponson, put Giese in his spot and call up Chris Britton.
