“Look, I’m the Decider” and I’ll write it like I want…and Baby Jesus is the Jesus that I like….Dear 8 pound, 6 ounce Baby Jesus, new born, not even a word spoken yet…
And Ortiz, let me tell you something bendeco, you pull any of your crazy shit with us, you pull your piece out on the lanes, I’ll take it away from you and stick it up your ass and pull the trigger until it goes ‘click’.
See, situations like this is exactly why we should bring up Carl Pavano. Just keep him in Texas and have him pitch every game we play there. Eff pitch counts or any of this no back to back days pitching crap.
Realistically we only play in texas 3-4 times a year (when we don’t have Houston interleauge), might be better off to take 4 losses to begin the season and work off of that.
We usually kick ass in Arlington though. That’s why this injury crap is so frustrating. I think they said the Yanks have gone 11-1 in their past twelve games in this ballpark.
We don’t need to boycott Texas altogether. If Boomer wants to make a comeback, just tell him to get ready for whenever the series in Arlington is every year. And maybe we can petition the MLB to have the little league-style pinch runner for whenever a pitcher gets on base.
He’ll be fine, don’t panic.Besides Garcia will be signed today or tomorrow, and perhaps IPK,if his mph is up to it will come back in good shape. Just remember the words of our great president GW Bush..”If ya get hurt doin what ya love then there you are,if you dont; get hurt by not doin whatever it was that got ya hurt in the first place, well there you are”
Can we send some of the reporters covering Farve to the MRI machine that will be examining Joba? I’m in full panic mode right now … I can’t get squat done today at work.
Hey guys, Ben , Mike, anybody. I Know this is totally off-topic but, I’m doing a research paper for college on sabermetrics. I remember U guys posted an article few months ago of some idiot sportswriter in Cincinnati criticizing Bill James and raving about Dusty Baker. Can U guys maybe point me to that article? Thanks.
Texas has zero redeeming qualities- it is hot, the barbeque is better in Kansas City, the Cowboys are assholes, and everyone down there is, as Vincente Fox coined it, a ‘windshield cowboy’.
That being said, I belive we should go and see about signing Tom Browning and keep him on the roster to pitch in Texas- that way, we have a 48 year old leftie and we can be witness to horrific arm snapping sounds during his delivery.
If there is a team that needs a indoor stadium, its Arlington. God DAMN. Thats 2 yankees pitchers that had to leave a game early because of muscle stiffness.
RAB should post a sign saying; “Conservatives not welcome on this sight”! You notice I didn’t say republicans, two different groups.
Hay, that reminds me of when I was a kid, the store/factory’s would post help wanted signs…at the bottom of the sign it would say; “Irish need not apply!” Being I’m an Irishmen, I always remember those signs. 27/08?
I think, if your animus is towards the current occupant of the White House, that you should have that rephrased as “Republicans not welcome on this site” as GWB is far from being a Conservative. Conservatives don’t double the size of the Department of Education, increase federal spending by $1 trillion in 8 years, have a Wilsonian foreign policy, or evade the Constitution. Of all the candidates who ran this year, probably Ron Paul is the only one who could be labeled ‘Conservative’.
For more reading on this matter you may want to check out Russell Kirk’s “The Conservative Mind” or Andrew Sullivan’s “The Conservative Soul” or, if you are really ambitious James Patterson’s book on Robert Taft.
For a Liberal, you have your talking points down pat. You must be young (under 35), I was a Dem when JFK was president. After him…their hasn’t been a true Dem, now they are more like socialists…out for power, the people be dammed.
Just my thoughts, but if you had a brain you would know there is a difference between Bush (Rep) and me (conservative). That’s alright though, can’t expect you to know the difference, you only know what someone tells you. Enough, this blog is for sports. 27/08?
Just turned 70. Being I lived in Nebraska in my younger years, I remember the signs pointed out to me by my dad. Heck, it was only in the 1940s. 27/08??
Out of curiosity, Ranger, what was it that you saw that made you say the site was unfriendly to conservatives? I can’t imagine it’s the Bush comments… i thought he was disowned both by conservatives AND republicans. I’d put the Bush camp firmly in the Kristolian “neocon” group.
Are you a pro-Bush conservative? What a rare breed!
There has to be a way to blame this on Bush…
Oh you’re so going to Gitmo for that.
Bagram AFB. Gitmo is like Disneyland compared to that place…
“I have opinions of my own — strong opinions — but
I don’t always agree with them.”
George W. Bush
“Fool my once, shame on you, fool me twice……you won’t get fooled again.”
i think its “you cant get fooled again” but that was the highlight of of his presidency
“Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?”
George W. Bush. Our leader.
again lol. it was “are is our children learning”
“Look, I’m the Decider” and I’ll write it like I want…and Baby Jesus is the Jesus that I like….Dear 8 pound, 6 ounce Baby Jesus, new born, not even a word spoken yet…
Bush was one of the key guys in getting that stadium built. The anti-New York pitching mound is his fault.
Let’s expand this rule to cover pitchers under 30 throwing or running the bases anywhere in Texas.
LOL, this is a good one!
I think that the Yankees pitchers should boycott Texas all together. Houston hasn’t been any better than Arlington.
Hick. Ass. Sate.
You see, the hickness of the state cause me to mispell the damn word “state”.
God I’m miserable. I’m sitting at work praying that Joba’s injury is nothing related to a labrum, rotator cuff, etc.
Well, Sox fans needn’t rejoice. Ortiz heard a ‘click’ in his wrist as he swung the bat last night.
That was just the subcutaneous plastic HGH disbursment vial he had installed to keep his levels at an optimal rate.
It’s like an IUD, except its for guys. And it’s full of steroids.
I’m sure that Ortiz is all hard work and determina……oh, I almost made it all the way through that without laughing.
Maybe it’s filled with all that Beantown “grit” and “heart” stuff that we keep hearing so much about?
How else would Dustin Pedroia lift the ball more than 20-ft. into the air?
Pedroia refined his swing back when he was known as David Faustino during countless MTV Rock-and-Jock celebrity softball games.
So you’re saying Pedroia and Bud Bundy are the same person?
Daid Faustino is much taller.
>v<
And Ortiz, let me tell you something bendeco, you pull any of your crazy shit with us, you pull your piece out on the lanes, I’ll take it away from you and stick it up your ass and pull the trigger until it goes ‘click’.
jesus!
you said it man

like i needed another reason to hate the state …
I tenth (or whatever) the motion. Let’s just send the AAA team to TX from now on and keep our guys out of there.
Why not let Eric Duncan take a stab at 1st instead of Sexson? The 6’8″ experiment has pretty much failed.
E-Dunc is hitting .231 in AAA, no thanks
How about instead of a Player To Be Named Later, we go ahead and trade Eric Duncan to somebody right now as the first ever Player To Be Named Earlier?

Don’t forget Pettitte had elbow issues when pitching for Houston and has felt fine since leaving the state.
cough (steroids) cough

Garcia?, which Garcia?
well if you pitch anyone over thirty then they might die of a god damned heat stroke.
“Happiness is Texas in the Rear-View Mirror” — apt title of Country song
excep that country music is about living in texas a lto of the time lol

yea but then its just gonna bake in there. it will cost them a fortune to AC that place
If they can do it in Phoenix they can do it in Arlington. And the heat wouldn’t cause Hughes to pull a hammy, if anything it should have prevented it

whats with everyone typing 27/08 on their posts????
27th world title in 2008
Looks bad though, we can only hold out hope. 27/08?
Jackie, it’s not everyone… only one poster. You know who you are.
Shoutout to Scott with Three Kids, though… big props.
