Maybe it was a different Bill White? It's a rather generic name...

Is it my ears or did I actually hear the name of "Bill White" when the Yankees' OLd Timers' Day public address announcer (it was either Kay or Sterling) read the names of the deceased from the past year? To my knowledge, the great William Dekova White is still alive.

In an aside, it's comforting to know that, in light of our discussions about the validity of the save statistic and how it may or may not affect the performance of a closer, as we parse and reparse the statistics of Mo the Hammer in save and non-save situations...

...that there are always guys like Billy Wagner, Aaron Heilman, and Pedro Feliciano, who suck balls equally in all situations.

Well he needs third pitch.

By the way, Price: 7IP 4H, 1Earn run, 0BB and 10k's. Just sick.

Forget the Changeup, the Yanks are seemingly let him throw that Slider with regularity. It was rated as "plus" when he was drafted so that would give him a dynamic repertoire if he can get that Slider working.

Hughes pitch well, and it seem his FB was was electric. Pumping 95MPH was encouraging. Plus, his curve got better as the game went along. Hopefully he works on that change.
