Game 126: October baseball in August

By

Counting tonight, there are 37 games left in the Yankees’ season. They are currently 6.5 GB of the Wildcard with 6 games left to play against the WC leader. The season is not over. Far from it in fact, no matter how ugly it looks. Go ahead and declare them dead if you wish, but don’t think that the other teams in baseball have so foolishly written them off as well.

You want playoffs, we’ll you got ‘em. October starts today.

1. Damon, CF
2. Jeter, SS
3. Abreu, RF
4. A-Rod, 3B
5. Giambi, 1B – but, but, but there’s a lefty on the mound!!!
6. Nady, LF
7. Matsui, DH
8. Cano, 2B
9. Molina, C

And on the mound, Andy Pettitte.

Notes: The Yanks are facing LHP David Purcey (2-3, 5.93 ERA), who they drafted, but did not sign, in the 17th round of the 2003 draft … Joe Nathan lowered his ERA to freaking 1.00 today

“Giambi, 1B – but, but, but there’s a lefty on the mound!!!” – Thank goodness Cashman took Sexy away from Joe…

    • I’m sure when Joe put the lineup card out there, he told the guys “Look, since there’s no more Richie, Jason’s got to play tonight. I know it’s impossible for us to win when Jason takes an AB against a lefty, but it’s out of my hands. Don’t blame me if when we lose 875-0.

  2. Ivan says:

Even if it’s a 40-1 chance, and even with bad lose after another kills ya confidence piece by piece, gotta keep hope alive.

    • Lloyd: What are the chances of a guy like you and a girl like me… ending up together?
Mary: Well, that’s pretty difficult to say.
Lloyd: Hit me with it! I’ve come a long way to see you, Mary. The least you can do is level with me. What are my chances?
      Mary: Not good.
Lloyd: You mean, not good like one out of a hundred?
Mary: I’d say more like one out of a million.

      Lloyd: So you’re saying there’s a chance!

  3. stuart says:

this lineup of former stars are not making the playoffs.. WHy can’t anyone just say the truth these former stars are former stars… really they are losing to a team with a lineup of ; scutaro, inglett, barajas, lind, mcdonald, and other assorted junk..

the blather about how good AJ burnett is is funny considering his ERA is over 4 , face the facts I have the Yanks stink.. there offense is the worst Yankee offense since 1993, that is amazing.. this is a team of former stars the key word is former….

Arod is a clown and will never win anything and cannot catch a pop fly, jeter is on the downside, and giambi is toast…

  4. bill says:

WHAT, NO BETEMIT!? BUT HE’S A SWITCH HITTER! Joe Freakin Girardi is the worst when it comes to putting lineups together. He is defintely guilty of overanalyzing this year. If they dont fuckin bomb this bum Purcey, lefty or not, theyre officialy done in my book. I dont want to hear its the first time they faced him, cuz that would mean I would shut the Yankees down the first time I faced them. I’m sick of getting shut down by bums with 5+ ERA’s. Absolutely sick of it ….

  5. Ivan says:

Was looking at some #’s on Johan Santana today since the people are screaming “see the yanks should of made the trade” and found them rather surprising.

His K/PA has drop over 6%, his BABIP is .270 and his FIP is a surprising 3.71. That’s right his FIP is one run higher than his actual ERA. In other words he has been rather lucky this season and he pitches in the NL.

Yes Hughes and Kennedy has pitch very poorly but for the guys who wanna bring up Santana and Yanks made a mistake, need to read the #’s and see the steady decline.

    • bill says:

Kennedy is fuckin garbage, those comments infuriated me. He throws slop on the mound and he’s 23 – how is he getting better. By the time he’s 35 if he gets that far he’ll top out at 70 with the fastball. What a joke. And Cabrera stinks. Cashman could have made that trade with Kennedy, Cabrera, Marguez, Hilligloss, and some other guys. Those guys havent done jack shit this year.

      • Damn straight, Bill. He’s a fucking garbage picker with a capital Tony Danza. There’s never ever been a 23-year old pitcher who’s struggled in his first 60 innings and ever amounted to shit. Ever. In history.

Abso-fuckin-a-lutely right. Just like Ol’ Abner Doubleday said, right after he finished inventing baseball, “If you can’t be a dominant pitcher within your first 58 and two-thirds innings, or throw a no-hitter or two before your 21st birthday, you may as well slit your damn wrists right then and there and spare your family the embarrassment that the rest of your life will be, cause you’ll never be worth two splooges on the wall of a Turkish bathhouse.”

        (I may be paraphrasing.)

        • bill says:

I would be able to tolerate Kennedy’s struggles if he had upside and threw harder than 86. If he was throwing in the low to mid 90′s, I would say he actually has upside. He’s just not that good. He’ll be another Matt DeSalvo or Tyler Clippard, just more hyped. Even those guys threw harder than Kennedy. I’m sure you Kennedy lovers were big DeSalvo and Clippard fans, already pre-ordering their Yankeeographies.

    • r.w.g. says:

Can everybody just shut the fuck up about Santana period?

      • Jamal G. says:

That’s like asking if ignorance and stupidity can just vanish…

        • Jamal G. says:

I’m serious, how many times are we going to hear “The Yanks could have this and that for that, this, and the other…”? What’s done is done.

        • Ivan says:

look on the bright side, you got guys like us.

          • bill says:

I’ll stop talking about Santana if you guys shut the fuck up about Kennedy and Cabrera. They suck. Stop defending them, and then I’ll stop talking about Santana.

            • Ivan says:

First off Melky was a throw in so forget about him. Second, if you wanted Kennedy traded, then you would have to pair him with Wang or Hughes to get Santana.

Sure Santana would help in the short term but in the long term considering the years/money plus players and the decline of his performance, why do that trade.

              • bill says:

But first admit that Cabrera and Kennedy suck and you would rather have Santana every day rather than those bums.

                • Ivan says:

Cabrera yes isn’t that good of a offensive player but IPK has potential. Yes he has struggled but so does almost every young pitcher.

Second, again you were not doing johan for IPK straight up.

Lets face it, would you rather have a pitcher decling making huge money and clearly not helping your team in the long run. Sure if you want everything now make that decision but don’t complain when he’s untradable and declining with every year or start.

                • Jamal G. says:

If it were just those two that were being asked for then sure, but seeing as how Brian Cashman himself said that the deals were either:

Package 1: Phil Hughes, Melky Cabrera, and two other prospects.

Package 2: Chien-Ming Wang, Ian Kennedy, Melky Cabrera, and a prospect in the lower Minor leagues.

I would not do either deal even right now.

            • Ivan says:

Leave Ian alone, sure he doesn’t have the best stuff but he can pitch and he has some potential. Look at Kevin Slowey or Jered Weaver. You mean to tell me he can’t performe at that level.

            • Jamal G. says:

People take time to develop, relax. Not everyone can be Josh Beckett and storm onto the scene and maintain that same constant success.

              • bill says:

Kennedy has no shot at being Beckett at ANY part of his career. He was throwing 86 mph fastballs in Anaheim in that awful start. That’s pathetic. He’s not going to “develop” any velocity, unless he takes steroids. I’m on the record as saying Kennedy will not succeed in the majors. If I’m wrong, laugh at me all you want, and I’ll eat my words.

                • Jamal G. says:

Jesus guy, I’m not saying he is going to be Josh Beckett. I’m saying that not every player develops at a quick pace, some take longer than others.

                • Damnit Jamal, stop using analogies, you know we’re not smart enough to understand them.

WHY THE FUCK IS MY BURRITO TAKING THIS LONG TO COOK IN THIS MICROWAVE!!!!!!?!?!?!?!??!

                • bill says:

I bet you guys are wearing your Ian Kennedy jerseys right now.

                • steve (different one) says:

                  HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

                  oh that is funny.

you are a riot. kennedy jerseys.

phew. let me catch my breath.

please, keep these killer one liners coming.

                • bill says:

I wasnt trying to be funny. They probably are wearing them. I just dont see why you guys like Kennedy so much.

                • We don’t like Kennedy that much. We just think your writing off of Kennedy is way too premature.

I think anyone who thinks it’s a lock that Kennedy is going to win multiple Cy Youngs is an idiot. And anyone who thinks that he’s never going to be a productive player, like you seem to think, is also an idiot. He’s a 23 year old kid who’s had about three cups of coffee at the big leagues. His ceiling is basically Greg Maddux and his floor is Ed Yarnall. That’s a huge, huge window, and we’ll have to wait and see where in there he’ll end up. There’s plenty of good indicators that point both ways, so BOTH sides need to stop acting like shit is written in stone.

Most of the IPK boosters aren’t asking for his HoF induction tomorrow, just that people remember that plenty of really, really, really good pitchers had career resumes just like IPK’s at the age of 23 and the career IP of 58.7

              • Stephen says:

Josh Beckett is a great postseason pitcher, and has great stuff, but I wouldn’t call him a GREAT pitcher. He’s been hurt way too much, has only pitched over 200 innings twice in his career, and has had maybe 1 excellent season (2007), with 2003 being very good but he only pitched 142 innings.

    • Jamal G. says:

Ivan, you know statistical analysis means nothing in this debate.

      • Ivan says:

You know not one time this season, I,ve said to myself, that maybe the yanks should of made that trade or the yanks made a mistake. Not once.

        • Jamal G. says:

Me neither, but I realized the day that Santana donned that #57 jersey in orange and blue that I would be in the minority of Yankee fans that held that opinion.

  6. Slugger27 says:

lets get the party started bobby

  7. A.D. says:

wow, Jeter didn’t gidp, he must be hot

  8. Ben C says:

now we go K, K, popout

  9. A.D. says:

this inning has strikeout, followed by double play written all over it

  10. Slugger27 says:

    come on arod!

  11. Mike A. says:

    Ah good ol’ David Purcey.

  12. Smitt Dog says:

    Jesus christ Alex

  13. A.D. says:

Rios arm never ceases to amaze

  14. Ivan says:

    Baby steps I guess.

  15. Slugger27 says:

at least there wont be a goose egg

  16. Ben C says:

i wonder what our lineup’s splits are with no one on base… they must be staggering

  17. A.D. says:

    X, RBI machine

  18. Slugger27 says:

was that a 2 out rbi hit?

  19. BTW, I noticed that while 99.99% of big league night games start at 7:05pm local time, the Blue Jays games start at 7:07pm.

That exchange rate is a friggin killer.

  20. BGG2321 says:

We need a better nickname for Nady. Anything with an X is too obvious. I vote for “warrior poet”cause he’s like Paul O’Neill lite

  21. NYFan50 says:

The Yankees have a .757 OPS with the bases loaded, 10th of 14th in the AL. The average is .800.

  22. Jamal G. says:

Mike, I downloaded the roster files from Operation Sports but I am having some issues. I transferred them to an USB device which my PS3 reads but the roster files that I unzipped are not showing up on the PS3. Any ideas?

    • Mike A. says:

Hmmm. Are they in the PS3 folder? There should be a main PS3 folder with all the draft classes in it. Usually there’s directions in the thread too. Did you unzip them?

      • Jamal G. says:

I unzipped them, created a folder called “PS3″ on the memory card, put the unzipped folder inside the “PS3″ folder and that’s it. Just doesn’t show up on the PS3.

        • Mike A. says:

I dunno man. Maybe go back and download them from a different thread. I dowloaded, unzipped, then just copied the stuff that was unzipped on my flash drive. Didn’t have to create a folder or anything.

  23. Ivan says:

    Brett Marshall pitch today.

    1IP 0H, 0R, 0E, 1BB, 1K.

  24. Ivan says:

    I gotta sport question.

5 Years from now, who has a better chance to make the playoffs: Detroit Lions or Pittsburgh Pirates?

    • A.D. says:

Pirates, they actually have something resembling a defense

    • Mike A. says:

I say the Lions. Pirates are still about 2 years from getting all their talent to the majors, then they’ll need some time to develop further. It’s relatively easy to turn around a football team.

    • Jamal G. says:

The Lions, and probably this year. Aaron Rodgers is too much of an unknown to be predicting a playoff spot for the Packers. I’m not even in the neighborhood of being sold on Vikings’ QB, Tavaris Jackson.

LoL @ “DA BEARS”. Epic Fail=Kyle Orton as your Opening Day QB.

      • A.D. says:

the lions aren’t making the playoffs, without the Martz fun n’ gun they rely on the o-line and defense….not a good plan for them

      • Ivan says:

The Bears were lucky two seasons ago and overachieve. Last year I told people they were not that good and the Bears prove me right. And this year there still not that good.

Vikings are really the best team in that division but Tavaras Jackson I don’t trust.

    • Slugger27 says:

i gotta say lions… the way the nfl is set up, the league almost forces u to be good after a while, the pirates just blow

    • Ivan says:

I go Lions too but I do not trust Matt Millen.

    • Old Ranger says:

The Lions, whole new offence (gap running), 2 to 5 step drops, good Q-back and monsters to throw to with quick slots. Good quick defence and D-backs another year running the cover 2. Yes, the Lions will be the ones to make the play offs. 27/09?

  25. A.D. says:

Brett Wallace, the cards #1 pick was called up to AA today…looks like the wood bat is treating him well

  26. Mike A. says:

Did Michael Kay just drop a Payless reference? Weak.

  27. Jamal G. says:

It’s sad when David Eckstein still looks like a little girl throwing from second base.

  28. pat says:

a badass pitcher like nolan ryan would put one in your earhole if you stood outside the on base circle and tried to time his pitches

  29. steve says:

Andy Pettitte’s hat: Does a joke even need to be made or is it pretty self-explanatory?

  30. Smitt Dog says:

What is that shit on Pettites hat?

  31. Smitt Dog says:

I’m a glutton for punishment… I’ve still given up hope, but can’t tear myself away.

  32. pat says:

    booya robbie

  33. bill says:

Wow. Nice play by Cano. He’ll be the next Roberto Alomar if he keeps his head on staight and gives consistent effort.

  34. A.D. says:

Does anyone buy the Beckett “slept on his arm story” clearly he gets into “the stranger” a bit to much

  35. A.D. says:

haha, alex thought he struck out

  36. pat says:

lyle overbay loves fucking over arod

  37. Mike A. says:

Lyle Overbay makes a nice throw and a good catch in fair territory, and apparently that’s enough for Kay to call him an outstanding fire basemen.

  38. Jamal G. says:

Who’s that douchebag wearing an umpire polo shirt?

  39. Ivan says:

You know if that was Eckstein, it would be considered Gritty and gutty but for A-Rod it’s a moronic play.

  40. A.D. says:

Trenton has the old 1 run on no hits

  41. Ivan says:

Man Cano looks so slick with that play. But to Pete Abe, he just trying to look cool.

  42. Mike A. says:

Heh, Clay Buchholz is working exclusively from the stretch apparently.

  43. A.D. says:

    big g showing some glove

  44. A.D. says:

wow hit and run with Jose

  45. Ivan says:

Nice exucution on the Hit and Run.

  46. Mike A. says:

“A nice job by Purcey backing up third. Hey Al, did you ever forget to cover a base when you played, and you felt so bad about it that you wanted to cry?”

  47. Smitt Dog says:

    Orioles coming back slowly…

If I can’t see the Yanks in October, at least I hopefully wont have to see those cock-target wearing child-molesters from Boston…

  48. A.D. says:

wow, Jeter really is on fire

  49. zzzzz says:

rumors of derek jeter’s demise have been greatly exaggerated.

  50. dkidd says:

isn’t jeter’s career average at rogers center like .380?

  51. A.D. says:

Garcia has a nice 3 innings so far

  52. Mike A. says:

Derek Jeter now has an 8-19 HR/GIDP ratio this year.

  53. bill says:

Jeter is turning his season around, starting to hit the ball with more authority. It might be too little too late though.

  54. Ivan says:

Where would you guys rank Jeter with the great SS in MLB history?

  55. pat says:

i got here a little late but have kay and cone made references to A)Fordham or B) Cone Stadium?

  56. mustang says:

    Jeter 3 for 3, HR, 2 RBI, 2 R.

Isn’t funny how the cream always rises to the top this time of year.

    • Jamal G. says:

A-Rod has ranked in the top five in Home Runs and OPS basically all season, what does that mean?

      • pat says:

u cant hold a good jeet down

        • steve (different one) says:

Isn’t funny how the cream always rises to the top this time of year.

i’m sorry but this is retarded.

where the f*ck was he when they were digging themselves INTO this mess?

every single game is worth the exact same amount. you can’t have a shitty season and get hot in the last 5 weeks and be considered some sort of god for that.

well, i guess you can, as long as everyon eis named mustang.

          • mustang says:

No he is “considered some sort of god” because of how many times come through. And that he has the ability to get hot the last 5 weeks.
What has your boy done? If he could get hot the last 5 weeks they probably be out of mess so please.

      • mustang says:

Not that much when he can’t hit himself out of paper bag when men are in scoring position.

I call it ” THE BLACK HOLE “.

  57. Ivan says:

Yo Buchholz has thrown 54 pitches, 28k’s-26BB.

  58. Jamal G. says:

Oh, did you guys hear that the last time the Yanks were in Toronto, there was a chick standing behind the glass in nothing but a thong? Our dude Manimal was there.

    http://ballhype.com/story/nati.....jays_game/

  59. Jamal G. says:

I get a headache every time the word “good” and “David Eckstein” are used in the same sentence.

  60. Jamal G. says:

Kevin Youkilis apparently had a mental lapse. I didn’t think white guys with un-groomed beards were capable of such.

  61. Nady Nation says:

    There we go O’s

  62. Jamal G. says:

6-4 Orioles, Coco Crisp went over the wall trying to catch the HR by Ramon Hernandez.

  63. Mike A. says:

Oh man. A mustache AND yellow sunglasses? The Big G is kickin’ it 1970′s style. Hide your daughters, fellas.

  64. Nady Nation says:

Unrelated, but I have to share my jubilation with my fellow fantasy footballers now that Steven Jackson has ended his holdout after he fell to me with the SEVENTH pick in one of my drafts. Hi-ohhhhh (I’m very aroused)

    • Jamal G. says:

Jesus, seventh? Not a lot of RB’s taken in the first six or just some over drafting of other RB’s?

      • Nady Nation says:

Well actually, this league I’ve been doing with my boys for 9-10 years now, and we actually use the rare 2 QB format. We’ve never changed it b/c it really makes our league unique and changes up the strategy and we love it. So Brady and Peyton went in the top 6, but Addai and Westbrook went before SJ b/c people were afraid of the holdout.

  65. Mike W. says:

I am watching this and just thinking to myself how weird the batting average stat is. If Jeter were to have a sick final month and a half and get his average up to .310 – .315, does that mean that he had a good season. I love Jeter as a ballplayer as much as the next person, but I really think he has had a dreadful season. In the eyes of most people, if he gets his average up to that level, does that make it a good season? I am guessing that most people are going to say that is why you have to wait for a full season to play out? I don’t know…

    • Nady Nation says:

I completely hear what you’re saying, but I think the answer lies somewhere in the middle. I don’t think it should be considered a good season, but if he finishes at .315 that means he will be raking for a month and a half. It would be extremely hard to call a .315 season a dreadful one

  66. Mike A. says:

Clay Buchholz is 0-6 with an 8.62 ERA & .972 OPS against since May 7th. He’s turned everyone into Manny Ramirez.

  67. Jamal G. says:

    Michael Kay, epic stupidity.

  68. Mike A. says:

    “I don’t understand it.”

    “The sun’s setting, Michael.”

    Haha.

  69. Mike W. says:

Also, I missed the matchup earlier in the thread, but just wanted to throw my two cents in. I love the Yanks. I love that they are trying to develop some young players. But, in my opinion, IPK is not anything more than a major league 5. I really don’t want to have people calling me names or anything, but can anyone rationally tell me why we should have so much hope with this guy? I am just asking because I don’t see it. What does he do that gives you hope?

    • Jamal G. says:

Good command of all four pitches, above average (with reports of “plus” potential) Changeup, Major League average Fastball, and high pitching IQ.

      • Mike W. says:

Is the knock on him now, then, that he is just scared to pitch in the Majors? I don’t see him with good command of anything in the majors. Is it just a situation where he needs someone to slap him in the face and say, just f’ing pitch?

        • Jamal G. says:

I have no idea why he isn’t showing that command that gave him the hype he has and the track record he developed throughout his college and Minor League years, but that is the reason he has struggled.

Like I said earlier, some guys just need a bit more time than others to adjust. There’s nothing wrong with that. Some fans have the patience to deal with that, others don’t.

          • r.w.g. says:

My huge beef with Kennedy is his attitude. I don’t like it when a player is not only unproven, but completely fucking awful, and then acts like it’s not a big deal.

Watching him on television, I don’t know if I agree with the scouting grades you threw up there on his ‘stuff’. Maybe when every last thing in his arsenal is ‘on’.

Kennedy has time to get better but I’m really not expecting much. I mean, what rounds were Alex Graman and Brad Halsey drafted in?

            • cult of basebaal says:

i like the way kevin goldstein put it in a recent chat over at Prospectus (paraphrasing)

“last year, half the yankees fans thought i was crazy for saying Kennedy’s ceiling was only ‘a four’ … this year, the other half are saying i’m crazy for saying his ceiling is even a four.

that seems about right to me, with command …

              • Old Ranger says:

Pitchers (or any-other sports person) that have blown away the opposition all the way up the ladder, don’t know how different it is in the show. Now one finds that the batters are knocking him around like a ping pong ball, at first it is; I didn’t hit my spots well, etc. It is hard for some very good athletes to admit they are among their equals, or in some cases, their betters.
Been there, done that, have seen others go through the same thing. The smart ones’ figure it out, IPK will too. 27/09?

    • pat says:

first thing that comes to mind is that he went to the same college as randy johnson and mark prior and put up better all around numbers

  70. Mike A. says:

Holy crap, Joe Mauer has a 38-68 K/BB ratio.

  71. there’s grittiness for ya…

  72. Jamal G. says:

Watching the NBA Finals, Mike Tirico said Sam Cassell was one of those guys that no matter how old he is and where he is in his life, he would be one of those guys you see in Rucker Park just trying to get in a game everyday.

Now, for those of us who grew up in NYC and went to the concrete basketball courts, is that really something nice to say about somebody? Because honestly, we all know that type of guy. The dude that has the hoodie on in like 85-degree weather and drinking bottled liquor out of a brown paper bag with a pair of fucked up Uptowns or FILA’s. Sam Cassell has “that guy” written all over him.

  73. Ivan says:

Man Vernon Wells has fallen off.

Giving him superstar money when in reality he’s a very good player.

  74. Jamal G. says:

10-4 O’s on a Melvin Mora three run jack.

  75. Jamal G. says:

How do you pronounce it, WE-Ters or WHY-Ters?

  76. bill says:

Wow. Arod goin with the glasses. Lets see if it works.

  77. A.D. says:

arod is all over the place throwing

  78. Mike A. says:

Holy crap moly, Mora has the 5th most RBI in the AL. How the hell did that happen?

  79. Jamal G. says:

    IPK’s line tonight: 5.0-IP, 7-H, 4-R/ER, 1-BB, 9-K

With the amount of hits, lack of XBH (one triple), and good control (66% of his pitches for strikes), I would probably say Scranton’s defense let him down a bit.

  80. steve says:

man, mlb.tv needs to get some new commercials, they keep repeating the damn aquos tv one …. “a screamer down the line that’ll singe your nostrils !”

  81. bill says:

Nice hitting by Matsui. He was on the ball all night.

  82. Ivan says:

The unlucky season for Cano continues.

    • bill says:

I was just thinking that. Do you think he will have a better season next year, and how good do you think he can be? I think he can be Alomar good.

      • Ivan says:

I wouldn’t say Alomar because Alomar was a legit top ten player when he played. Nevertheless, Cano to me will bounce back and I still think he can be a very good 3 hitter.

  83. Marc says:

I don’t think I can handle the mlb.tv commercials anymore… “How do you want to see the game?” 20 seconds later… “How do you want to see the game?”

  84. Jamal G. says:

Michael Kay, if that obviously is the caveat, shouldn’t you then shut the fuck up about making such a big deal about it?

  85. Mike A. says:

You know, why did Girardi take Pettitte out? Now I have to listen to Kay second guess it.

  86. Mike A. says:

Wow, might we really be looking at consecutive games clocking in at under 2.5 hours?

    Manageable.

  87. pat says:

anybody know what happened to skippy the kid who used to sit down the left field line at yankee stadium? He used to have the best hands out of any of those people I’ve ever seen. He was like a highlight reel in foul territory.

  88. Jamal G. says:

Austin Romine is really doing all he can right now (hit his 8th HR tonight), but when you have Jesus Montero as your rival, what can you really do?

  89. Jamal G. says:

Melvin Mora has 47-RBI since the All-Star break. Yes, Melvin Mora.

  90. D.B. says:

Lassiter debut 3 for 4 and a RBI hes gonna be daddy one day…

  91. Ivan says:

2 outs away from an out.

  92. I figured out what Xavier Nady‘s nickname should be:

    Billy Baldwin.

  93. pat says:

wow those are some nice ass seats ransom just landed in… dammit kay u said it before i could finish typing

  96. bill says:

BALLGAME OVER! YANKEES WIN! THEEEEEEEEE YANKEES WIN!! Theyre still alive.

  97. Marc says:

Ahaha I beat you at being cliche and cheesy

  98. bill says:

You cant say I copied you cuz we both posted it at 9:32.

  99. pat says:

i missed it what happened between jeter and kjones?

  100. D.B. says:

Montero, Romine twice and laird are beasttsss.

  101. Stephen says:

On the plus side, Clay Buchholz has been terrible this year. I think it’s safe to say Joba’s the better pitcher.

  102. bill says:

I’m watchin Yankeeography:Yankee Stadium. Its gonna be sad to see the old ballpark go. The Mystique and Aura, the Ghosts of Yankee Stadium, will be gone with the rubble. Its too late now, but I think we shouldve kept the old ballpark.

  103. yankeefan91 says:
