Well, that explains things

By

Lisa Kennelly of The Star-Ledger spoke with Brian Cashman today, and the Yanks’ GM was quick to explain Phil Hughes‘ less-than-stellar outing last night. According to Cashman, Hughes had a bug, and that’s why he tired quickly as the game wore on. Sounds like the Phil Hughes apologists have infiltrated even the highest levels of the Yankee organization, eh?

Hughes is my daddy, your daddy, and Cashmans daddy.

Does he make his next start in the minors or MLB?

Cash’s media management doesn’t surprise me. It’s necessary. If it WEREN’T necessary, there wouldn’t have even been a suggestion that Cash was being an Hughes apologist.

The reaction would have just been, “Oh okay, good. That’s fine then.” But that wasn’t the reaction.

Ben, your sarcasm is not translating across the medium.

Maybe we should get some emoticon’s for RAB. Now that would be a room-clearer. I bet you couldn’t get a serious commenter to stay on here more than a month. Mike would quit the first time I gave him “roll eyes” or the smiley sticking his tongue out.

What will we hear next, IPSuk has been pitching with a hernia all year?

  8. ChrisS says:

Or, you know, maybe Hughes was working on his pitches in AAA (like he’s been instructed to do) and not just trying to dominate AAA hitters with his two ML pitches.

Practice! We’re talking about practice here.

Add in that he was a little under the weather, a little tired arm and people thinks he sucks.

I like River Ave Blues, because, unlike other baseball blogs, there are sooooo pitching coaches and scouts here. Having so much inside information is just amazing. I’m surprised that the Yankees just don’t fire their coaches and scouts and instead just read the comments here. They could save hundreds of thousands of dollars.
