He had a very strong post-season as well. From what I know, he throws a mid-90s fastball with some solid secondary pitches. The Nats had him working as a starter at A, and he struggled a bit. Once he moved into the bullpen, he really thrived. It's possible that the Yanks landed themselves a good deal with Gonzalez.
