The food court for the bleachers is on top of the restaurant. I don’t know if there’s a concourse under the stands with concessions as well, but it seems that’s the main area for us bleacher folk to get our food. And there are actually a couple rows of seats up there already, but I have no idea how you get tickets, or if you can get tickets.

look at it this way – the OF on the opposite side of where you’d be sitting is not in view. I go to a game to pay to see the team, if you’re absolutely obstructing one of those players that’s not acceptable.
it doesn’t matter if only a handful of plays may happen there, it’s inexcusable.
this is just another line item in a long list of reasons why the new stadium is tailored to higher-income fans who *tend* to have less direct interest in the game, and how those in the lower income brackets can’t do anything to change that.

I go to Petco (a “new park”) about once a week. I’ve sat in about 20 different places. I’d say half of them have some sort of obstructed view.

Of course, I don’t pay for the tickets.. and if I did I’m sure they’d be about 1/5th of what you’d pay at the New Yankee Stadium.

FYI: The Yankees have said there will be TV screens on those walls so people can follow the flight of the ball when they lose sight of it.

I asked Lonn Trost about the sight lines in February when we took a tour and that’s what he said.

Yes, but if the top of the restaurant is, say, 30 feet above the ground, wouldn’t you be able to put seats that high without interfering with the batter’s eye?

Or, eliminate those seats and put more seating on TOP of the restaurant… be creative.

don’t forget the restaurant is doubling as the “batter’s eye”. so that’s one reason.
