Sitting in for Bob
ByWhile we’re all eagerly awaiting Bob Sheppard’s return to the booth, The Times got around to profiling Sheppard’s replacement last week. Jim Hall, the man filling in for the Voice of God, talks about the reception he receives, his efforts at mimicking Sheppard and his 40-year career as the backup Yankee public address announcer. I’m a sucker for stories like these.

hes like the matt cassel of announcing
Bob Sheppard was a smug, condescending douche who dated supermodels and dissed his baby mama? I had no idea…
Possibly. Moreso that jim hall has spent a career in obscurity as a backup to a more well known person.
Bob was a terrible college announcer.
he did college games in like the 1940′s how terrible could it have been?
I would think Jim Sorgi would be a better comp.
