They cold have done what the Mets did, and recalled some of the greatest moments in the team's history?

Maybe fly in Charlie Hayes and have him run to the spot where he made the 1996 ending catch. Have Berra and Larson walk towards each other between the mound and dish, and hug, like they did after the perfect game. HAve Chambliss stand by the fence where his 1976 homer cleared......same with Tino, Brossius, and Boone.
In other words, GET CREATIVE! Do something that signifies the unforgetable moments that occured in the place over the past 100 years. There were ALOT of them!

Girardi standing at hime plate with the all-time great catchers was goofy, and Joe Torre not getting a single mention was petty bullshit.
The whole thing looked hackneyed and thrown together, and was almost an exact duplication of the All-Star game ceremonies.

Honestly, if you didn't watch the All-Star game, then you'd have probably thought it was a great ceremony. But if you did, and most Yankee fans did, I don't know how you can think there was any original thought put into this.

"Sorry Andy you used roids PEDs whatever you want to call them. You used them and then lied about it, got caught, came part way clean, then got caught fibbing again, came clean and then yeah you guessed it got caught again with some different info."

Then you went out and had a rotton season, and the Yankees still want you back. To Pettitte, the Yankees must seam like a bad penny.

A bunch of guys flying into NY just to carry a rubber house-shaped object across the street to another building sounds really cool.
Rivera's gonna hop a plane from Panama for that?
(or does he now live in Westchester all year round?)

All it will do is re-emphazise how ridiculous it is that the Yankees are destroying a monumental ballpark just to move across the street.

The Yankees want to inject some symbolism into the move?
Here's the symbol: $

I would like to see it just be Jeter. I think if it was one guy it would mean more. With that said if they wanted to use more than one guy Rivera and Posada would be interesting. In any case I would like them NOT to use Andy.

I've bought tickets just yesterday for the 1pm Stadium Tour on that day. What are the odds I get to see this live?

I guess I understand, but in all honesty they did more, they played the last baseball game ever at Yankee stadium. And I dont know how you can memorialize a stadium any better than bring back the players who made that stadium special.

I'm not going to comment on what they could have done better or differently, because it wasn't my job to think of that. However, the ceremony was a carbon copy of Old Timers' Day, which they have every year. I was kind of hoping they'd do something they hadn't just done in July.
