When it was Phil Hughes and Melky Cabrera for Johan Santana, the pitcher with the best active stats in the game it was &quot;Save the Big Three&quot; and &quot;Don&#039;t do it Brian&quot;.

Now in this chat someone proposes Hughes, Jackson, and Melancon for Peavy.  And your response is that you&#039;d try to get Melancon out of the deal.  

But isn&#039;t something clearly wrong with the fan&#039;s player evaluation and Brian Cashman&#039;s player evaluation when a year ago everyone wouldn&#039;t do a trade that was basically Hughes for Santana straight up.  Because I&#039;m not counting Melky Cabrera as anything when everyone said all along that he was a 4th outfielder. 
 
Now everyone here is on board with trading Hughes and Jackson which are two top end prospects for Peavy who isn&#039;t nearly as good as Santana has been over the long haul and he&#039;s a right hander</description>
