George has really turned this franchise into the premier in all of sports. He spends everywhere possible and is rewarded with the largest fan base. When he leaves the team will be in better shape then when he arrived by one hundred fold. It has become a revune producing giant, between the new stadium, YES Network and Legends Field complex his impact is profound. He may not be the brightest or most well spoken individual, but where he lacks, he has surrounded himself with extremelly ralented individuals on and off the field. In many ways he contributed to the year long poularity of baseball popularizing the hot stove. contracs to televise every game and even the creation of channels devotes to sports. he wasnt perfect, but he did as much for the game as any owner in history and personally i mourn hte fact that he is no longer in control of the team. not to mention that he made possibly one of the best business investments in history buying a team for 12 million dollars that is most likely worth a billion dollars now. he was equally a fan as much as he was an astute business man who had a vision of what the yankees could become as a business and made it happen. thank you george...you will be missed the man changed the face of sports as we know it and the players and owners should thank him for what he did for baseball.
